Title: Those Feel Good PICS and MEMORIES
Post by: Gérrard on July 25, 2012, 09:58:25 am
Every now and again a pic taken on a trip pops in my head, it stands out and brings back good memories. Different days it could be a different pic. Post yours as well.

Earlier in the year on my Social Tour

Eerste foto is van Lesotho trip, baie nice om daar alleen te staan en uitkyk oor die land
Tweede een van Verneukpan trip, net 'n ongelooflike gevoel daar in die middel van niks

This was a good trip, organized by XRL650Fegan in Dec last year. Been talking to him about a trip later this year, which brought back the memory.

Mixed emotions. Solo down to Jozini.

Got lost. ::) :biggrin:

At first moerig but then relaxed and then a chat with locals having their breakfast on the fire.

They showed me the way.

Sort of part-of-the trip-type-of-experience. Not planned.

This Sunday marks the anniversary of Watty's passing, which brought back memories of the 2010 EC Bash and how protective he was over my daughter, Kirsty, all weekend when the okes got a bit fresh.  :ricky:

I have a lot and when things are getting tough, I scroll through them and wish I was there.  Here are a few of "Those special moments I have"

Baviaans Dec 2011 - was a 5 day trip with good friends.  I was sitting next to the stream waiting for them to come as I was taking photo's.

Lady Grey - East London sole after our Lesotho trip.

Late one afternoon after we got lost in Transkei - a trip with Kally.

Me fighting Sani - What a nice 4 days I had with very kind & nice people.

Otto du Plessis pass after we had a beer at GlenInk - again the same friends were with me.

Me and Ou Bees on our 5 day trip Easter 2011 - here we were having a flattie

and so I can go on and on and on.  Sorry Jup, maar daar's soooo baie.

Sal hierdie morsige dag vir altyd onthou. My eerste proper trip. Baviaans 2009, April/Mei langaweek. Baviaans was nat en snotglad, uitgespeol, uitgespin.

na sewe ure in die saal aan 70km trek ek in by Komdomo kamp.

die smile in die helmet kan geen geld koop nie.

Saw it as I arrived there and nearly pissed myself. Was my first bash and forced to be there by Watty. Coming from a rally background I had no idea of the dynamic of Bashes. What a lekker weekend it was. Did not meet that many people, as I was mostly agog by Nemodakar's antics.

As with Fly fishing, this riding we do, takes us to the most stunning parts of our world, where we can spend some quality time with those we love - including ourselves! Beats golf any day!  :thumleft:

I remember the times I spent with Glenink, how he used to rave about his geo-cashing and the amazing places it took him, that he otherwise would never had an excuse to go to. He was a good story teller and I could listen to him for hours.

This picture was taken at the Toy Run, 28 November 1993.  Carefree days of sun, bikes and getting pissed at Quay 4. Castle draught was 10 bucks!   I had known my late wife (then girlfriend) for a whole month by then.  Good times...   ;D

Last year Going North and I went where the road took us. We ended up going up a MTB track just outside Greyton and slept right there with the town spread out below us.

The next morning after riding for about 10 min. GN made an emergency stop, janked his helmet off and took a spider out of his ear.  ;D I wil NEVER forget the not so elegant dismount!
