Post by: Mate JC on November 20, 2012, 10:54:14 pm
I put my motorbike on the airplane and sent it from Ljubljana, Slovenia to Nairobi, Kenya.

I made warm-up trip to Kilimanjaro and Pangani in Tanzania, then back to Mombasa, Kenya.

I made my 2nd warm-up trip from Mombasa to Mount Kenya, crossed equator, back to Nairobi, Loitoktok and (after accident) back to Mombasa.

I made long trip down from Mombasa to Cape town, all the way next to Indian ocean.

Hi Mate JC, I always envy people who have enough time to do a trip like that where time is no problem. You must have had fun doing it over a period of 7 months. We had to do our trip in 42 days in order to be back at work again. We also crossed from Tanzania to Mozambique on one of those boats, they told us there is a 20% success rate of making it to the other side. We traveled that sand road from the border to the Indian ocean at night. And is the XT 660 not an unbelievable bike on a trip like this. Next time in SA come and say Hi to the WD's in Joburg.
