Title: My 1200GSW!
Post by: spyker on June 03, 2013, 02:55:32 pm
Well, not yet actually. I'm debating whether I should sell my 1200GS and get a new LC! My heart says yes and the wife says NO!  :lamer:

I traded my 2011 1200 GS for the new LC model. I got a good trade inn for my old bike. Still needs to get used to the new bike, but I really like the electronics! The fact that you can switch modes on the fly, and the bike does all the required adjustments is a real advantage for me!

Obviously a huge advantage if you can trade your bike!

Why? Do some guys battle to get a trade-in? Or do u mean to get a good trade-in value.

First you get a good trade value and second, it is just less hassles
BMW does not have an issue with trade-ins, unlike most other manufacturers

No hassles whatsoever. The advantage of buying a premium brand bike!

I took my new toy out for it's first proper trip yesterday, did about 200 Km's, with some dirt and sandy roads included. I can just say I am totally amazed about the stability of the bike on gravel, and fairly sandy loose roads.

It is just so much more stable than the previous model!

What you are experiencing for yourself must be an illusion!  ;)

I've tested it. It sucks beeeg time. It developed head shake and tried to kill me the whole trip. Also, when I got back the rear brakes were completely shot. I also noticed that the clutch was not good. The throttle is way too sensitive. This is overall a crap bike. If you have a white one with cruise control you should get rid of it immediately. you can dump it my house and I will get rid of it for you.

Tell her the new B-Class has more room, etc. and then buy her a 2012 model (same spec as the 2013 models, only the service plan is different). You can get a 2012 model with low km on for R320k with lots of extras.

That's what I did

Forward planning is required.

We bought the FD an new vehicle a few weeks ago - made a huge fuss about it, took her on a 4x4 training course, and all is well.

I showed the FD the sneak preview pics of the new GSA-LC released earlier this week - said that THAT would be a great bike to have, when it comes out, and after the first release niggles have been sorted...... Leave that to rest for a while.....

Timing is everything, I will accidently walk past a bike at BMW with her in the future......

Looks like Woody's Wheels.
The back HUB is their superlace setup.

Front looks like a 21'' to me as well. Its really purty.

Now that you mention it - none of those rims seem standard.  The spokes run to the centre instead of the sides.  Rear wheel spokes seem silver and front black too.  Nice set-up though.  Wonder what this will do to the headshake??  :peepwall:
