Any dawgs out there that stayed at the Oceanview Hotel in Coffee Bay. Can you recommend this place or any other place in the Coffee Bay/Hole in the Wall area. Plan is to travel from East Londen after the GS Challenge up to Coffee Bay/Hole in the Wall. We will be camping at the GS Challenge so would like something more comfortable that night.
Cannot find anything on the forum about this hotel. Alternatively seems like Hole in the Wall Hotel is also an option. Any feedback on that maybe?

If you want a quieter place, a nice ride and a little further north is the Anchorage hotel.
Its just north of Umtata river mouth and used to be a fine place, thou haven't been in a while.

From what i remember hole in the wall hotel is a bit better, but the biggest difference is the surroundings.
Coffee bays is know to the backpakkers and "hippies" if you want, and during peak season or whenever they there in mass, expect bongo drums right through the night. Also, coffee bay has the local shabeen that music can run into early mornings. They use to behave but dont know if this has changed.

Best hotel in that area is the Ocean View and as another said for camping- White Clay ( which is on the way to Hole in the wall from Coffee Bay). By now you have probably decided anyway.
A group of guys and girls from the Durban BMW club will be staying at Hole in the wall hotel / timeshare, youll probably bump into them. Enjoy.

The hotel in coffee bay serves a great buffet lunch and is right on the beach. I do not know the rates. I stay at Bomvu back packers. 0475752073

Was in that area about two weeks ago and had lunch at the Hole in the Wall hotel/timeshare. The latter looks like a relatively secure setup, and lunch was not too bad at a fair price. Sorry, do not know the rates.

Check out Sugarloaf Backpackers in Koffiebay: http://sugarloafbackpackers.com/ (http://sugarloafbackpackers.com/)
We stayed there for 2 nights after the WD Keimond Bash and it was lekker. They have 2 bed safari tents and a few chalets. Bathrooms are clean, food and bar is lekker and good security.

Loneman Stopped in at Anchorage a few weeks back. All looking pretty shabby, not sure if its much of an option.
