Looks like a spider but was under the water so I assume it's a type of crab?
don't remember seeing one of these before.

What is it?

Looks like a baby of those Japanese crabs with the scary long legs.

That's a red sea dwelling daddy longlegs , the most poisenous creature known to man , like its other poisenous friend, the arrow frog , it secretes its deadly poison thru its skin ( exoskeleton in this case ) the poison in turn is absorbed thru its victim/atackers skin , very painfull death the occures

Take up to 2 weeks before the symptoms are felt

The crab has 10 legs (or 8 legs and 2 long claws) while the spider-thingie only has 8 legs. Claws might grow later?

It's a sea spider. quite often see them  :thumleft:

did you find it on the miller's reef area?

yes it is a sea spider.

we called it a spider at the time but I thought it wouldn't be called a spider.
