Title: KTM 690 Rally Kit Crashbars
Post by: Mike Adendorff on January 02, 2014, 08:21:19 am
Hi Guys,

Here is a project we have been working on. These crashbars fit the ralley kit you can get from KTM Capetown.

Made from 25.4mm x 2mm Steel tubing. Protecting the larger external fuel tanks.

They are being tested at the moment and will have some updates soon.

You can get luggage racks from:

He made some for our two Honda XR650L. We used these on a trip of 14500 kms from Cape to Cairo. Nothing broke, awesome quality and good to look at on top of it. You'll see on the website that he makes racks for the 690 KTM as well. Highly recommend his work.

100 x what Amsterdam said.

I've got Michaels (DPA) luggage racks and rear plate on my 690.
Went down three times in Lesotho trip last year Nov. Racks didn't even notice and the one crash was proper!

Rumbux is/had developed - saw fitted to a bike at RAD.

Don't understand why though - a standard 690 is already designed to fall/scratch (rather fit radiator braces) - I would apply the same principle as that I do with my offroad bike:  I'll buy a second set of full plastics when I buy the bike; put a kick ass sticker kit on; ride the living hell out of it and then when you sell it, put the original plastics back

Hi Guys, with regards to the Omega Kit,

I have no idea if the bars will fit or not.

In theory they should as they attach to the frame of the bike and that is standard. Where the difference of the tanks with regards to their mounting points and width ect. I have no clue.

I doubt they will work with the Omega kit. The kit in the first pic is open at top mounting point between the fairing and tank which is not the case with the Omega kit
