Has anyone done a Airbox mod for the 690 as per the pic below or maybe have a link to what needs to be done?
-
Dit lyk na nice mod. Dan is daar pak plek vir tools of so.
-
Dink daar is paar maniere, soos bv. http://www.advrider.com/forums/showpost.php?p=25664585&postcount=19549 (http://www.advrider.com/forums/showpost.php?p=25664585&postcount=19549)
Gaan seker net bietjie fabrication vat.

Daai 690 sal short bursts of extra methane endused power he soos ek poepe los laat
-
That looks like a very professional and clever but most of all functional mod
-
The only downside will be deep river crossings.I am very aware of my Rottweiler air filter on my SE.On more than one occasion I have exited with the bike coughing and spluttering.

Checkout this link to give you a more visual idea http://www.radegarage.com/2014-07-07/ktm-690-auxilliary-tank/ (http://www.radegarage.com/2014-07-07/ktm-690-auxilliary-tank/)
you will need to remove the SAS http://advrider.com/forums/showthread.php?t=666269 (http://advrider.com/forums/showthread.php?t=666269) and move your air temp sensor into the velocity stack oh and you will need to add an air filter to the engine breather pipe. Don't go to small with the new main air filter, I don't like that one on the first link think it will need cleaning after every ride. I'm sure performance will be affected, you might need to play around with the mapping. have a look here on how the EFI system works http://www.advridermag.com.au/forum/showthread.php?266-KTM-690-EFI-Idiots-Guide (http://www.advridermag.com.au/forum/showthread.php?266-KTM-690-EFI-Idiots-Guide) Bottom line changing the airflow (airbox, filters, velocity stack and exhaust pipe) always has an effect somewhere in the performance range

checkout this build http://advrider.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1016239 (http://advrider.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1016239) I'm following it with great interest.

Is the fuel cap location not an issue for you guys when things get muddy?

a bit off topic ;) for me the location has been a bigger problem when traveling with luggage, but yes it's not the best design for dirt and mud, luckily easy to sort out with a bolt on adapter. Rally Raid makes one if I recall (the bike in the first post has one
