Title: Husky local spares dealers
Post by: Straatkat on April 08, 2015, 10:16:55 pm
After waiting for over a year for parts from Puzey Randburg to arrive, we got some advice to try ASAP Racing in Fourways (from RAD nogal)
and orderd some bits, they arrived and I got a call today they are ready for collection. Pretty good service if you ask me, just over a week.
So, anyone need Husky parts you know where to go.

Mate of mine ordered a chain slider from Primrose, about 6 months later it arrived after he had long since sold his 610  :spitcoffee: RAD is the best bike shop I have dealt with ever and it's great that they could steer you in the right direction  :thumleft:

Bikers's Warehouse is my go-to place for Husky spares.

Currently busy with a rebuild. Place and pay for order on Monday, get spares the next week Wednesday
On average.

Excellent service from Shanna. :thumleft:

OK so I contacted both Bikers Warehouse/Puzey and ASAP Racing on 2 January by e-mail asking for a quote and expected delivery time on 7 parts. I supplied the description and part numbers myself from parts catalogue.

A week later I had not received any response from either but knowing that many business's only opened on the 4th I sent a reminder to both. BW/Puzey responded immediately and forwarded a quote and time frame. Very professional. About 5 days later I received a voice mail from ASAP (Calvin I think) saying sorry but they are having issues with their new dealer network system promised would get back to me. Radio silence since. Fuckem.

So have ordered and paid Bikers Warehouse. Lets see how it progresses.

Oh and prices not that bad at all as well.

Puzey and bikers warehouse is the same place. I found they not a good company to do business with, after my dealing with them and my so called brand new Nuda, that turned out to be 2nd hand, after I paid and flew up to collect. They stuffed me around for 5 months, with the registration papers and my last email to Kerry Puzey still has not been replied.

Yes I know Bikers Warehouse and Puzey are one in the same (that is why I referred to BW/Puzey). So far so good but lets see if they deliver on these parts. Sorry to hear about your experience - is there a thread on it?

I wandered into Bikers warehouse this morning, asked Shanna for a relay for my 610, she reached over and took one off the shelf for me, a pleasant surprise.
Pretty and efficient...or is that pretty efficient!

UPDATE - Last few e-mails to Shanna have been ignored! Eventually phoned this morning and she says sorry I have alot of unread e-mails ... WTF? Seemed to know about my order though but then admitted that she had made a faarkup and sent a gasket to another customer by mistake and is now waiting for it to be returned ... before she can dispatch my order .... TICK TOCK, TICK TOCK.

NOT A GOOD SHOPPING EXPERIENCE.

I think next time I will order from USA.

Eish.....sorry to hear Dom.

Maybe I have been lucky, but I have never had a day's problem. The only time I had a little delay was when she was off sick for a day or so.

FURTHER UPDATE - e-mailed again today as still nothing!! Later in the day got a phone call from a guy called Nick/Nicolas who tells me he is following up on my e-mail and has taken over from Shanna. I fill him in on the unhappy shopping experience and he tells me he has all the parts I ask him about the gasket that Shanna had told me she had sent out to someone else in error. He looks into it and comes back to me to tell me sorry but in fact it was never ordered! This despite it being on the quote and paid for. So I was not only faarked around I was also lied to. Now the part will be back ordered like it should have been in early January. Big apologies from Nick TICK TOCK, TICK TOCK. A proper pussy business imho.  How not to win friends and influence people!   :dousing:
Anyone got Mr Puzzy's e-mail address to send this link to?

If I order local will definitely try them - just frustrating as I could have had it direct from States months ago. Pussy has just sat on it ... literally.  >:D

Mailed in an order a few days ago - normally would have got a response from Shanna pretty soon thereafter.
All quiet on the western front ::) If she has left, then they will probably be struggling for a while.

Aarg... :xxbah: but then again it is nearly week-end and I am not in the mood for a fight now. Will tackle it later. Was an order for 2 sets of fork seals.

Received an e-mail from Kerry Puzey apologising for the stuff-up. Nicolas (who seems to have taken over from Shanna) forwarded my e-mail to him. The assurance now is the missing part will be ordered Monday for delivery by end of the week time will tell. TICK TOCK

Kykdaar -the e-mail address I used for Shanna and Nic now uses is: sales.2@puzey.co.za

Almost another month later and guess what I received the missing part BUT WAIT WTF where are the rest of the spares that were meant to come with it? Another phone call, another apology "oh shit I thought they had been sent to you already please give me the quote number again yes they are still here " Me - 'please can you confirm what parts you have still to send' looks like they may have a front mudguard instead of the back that I was quoted for and paid for MONTHS AGO well lets see what arrives (at their expense this time for shipping). Fuck what a business to do pleasure.  :dousing:

Beware of Biker's Wear-me-down House of Puzzeys!  :3some:

Looks like Shanna ran a tight ship and now that she is no longer there things have gone backwards in a big way.

I have done all my parts business there in the past without any problems whatsoever, so I will phone Kerry and ask her whether they can still deliver or not. Will ask Blazes to do the same.

Else we will take our business elsewhere.

The reality is Shanna fucked up my order and the new guy Nicolas is trying to do damage control. She appears to have lied to me that the missing part had been sent to another client by mistake the new guy looked into it and found it had never even been ordered .
I received an apologetic e-mail from Kerry Puzzey about a month ago after Shanna left but it is not as if anything has changed. Reality is they suck and once you start digging there is a lot of bad press out there about Puzzy's poor customer service an f-you attitude. I will NEVER use them again. If I had ordered abroad I would have had the stuff in hand months ago. I mean FFS I contacted them first FOUR MONTHS AGO and still do not have the parts!!!  :dousing: :dousing: :dousing:

Saga continues - Nicolas phones on Friday and says "sorry the rear mudguard that Shanna ordered for you has a big crack along it" I will order you another on Monday and when here send it off with the other missing parts. My response FUCK NO send me what parts you have NOW and at your expense and you can send the mudguard later (which of course could be another 4 fooking months!) it is not as urgent anyway but jirre this is bollocks. I NEVER had a problem with spares when I dealt with Primrose - these guys are plain useless. I think they are lucky I live in the Wild East otherwise I would have been there jumping on desks and kicking Poosy bikes over.  :dousing:

Jirre Dom, you make me feel really guilty for recommending them to you originally :peepwall:

Blazes had great service there and so did I. Basically most of the spares needed for my rebuild has been bought from them with utmost ease and great service.

Seems I was lucky. Will have to find a new spares outlet now.

Hi Guy. To bring closure to the Post...FYI Shana knows the product but does not work at BW any more. We have caught up on parts and relatted issues now. Things are back on track !
Bikers Warehouse really does strive to be better. Mail sales@bikerswarehouse.co.za OR sales@puzey.co.za if have you any problems.

This post is not closed - well not while I am moderator anyway.  ::) The reality is my the order that I placed in early January is still not completed! (... Shana or no Shana) I have detailed the 'unhappy shopping experience' above and as stated it was a test of just one of our local suppliers. I could have ordered abroad from Hall's Cycles but decided to support local.

After a further e-mail this morning enquiring after my outstanding rear mudguard that had been re-ordered (and was supposedly here but stuck in customs) I was informed that no it is actually on back order and may land next week ... 4 months and counting. I think in fairness Nicolas is trying his best and has been doing damage control.

Keep watching this space.  :o

Look the one last outstanding part - a white rear TE610 mudguard Nick says he is struggling to get ... he did call me to update me and it does seem he is on top of his game. A few other parts I needed came quite quickly so maybe things looking better.  ::)

Ok so the last time Nick called me about the white rear mudguard still outstanding he said it was on backorder till January 2017!! Yes NEXT YEAR presumably waiting on another manufacture run? This would have been 1 year wait on a part!!! Well good news is he called yesterday to say he has been updated by the factory and will have it next month.  :thumleft: The wheel turns, slowly sometimes but it does turn.

Hey Dom! hope that you get the part next month.
I must start a thread for Terra and Strada owners and see how many we have on the forum.
This way we could interchange parts (if we have any) and sort out any issues we have between us.

Kingsley Holgate often says in his books: "The time belongs to Africa".

When I read something like this I just realise again that we are very much a part of Africa in many respects. I absolutely love the arrogance of the dimwit who "closes" the issue whilst still p!ssing in the wind trying (not very successfully) to do damage control on a seemingly very deeply flawed customer service (dis-service) comeback.

Open that thread Tony the Boney

Look Nick seems on point - had to do damage control on some old orders. Also he cannot do anything if the factory does not have the part or is on back order.

They went out of their way to source me local dust seals for my front forks.

Will confirm that it is indeed the correct sizes, etc and will then post the result under the thread I previously opened about it.

OK - so update and closure (literally) on this dealer. After my last bout of frustration and post about 10 days ago, plus one on Facebook I suddenly got another call from Nick and guess what? ... a shipment had just arrived that day and my mudguard was with it (oh and another 3 on their way! Guess every time I made a stink another one was ordered  ::) ). I also got e-mails from the Puzzy's (Mike and Kerry) - one lame and one rude (but guess I was also a bit rude  >:D). A few days later I had the last part ordered in hand yes 10 months later. I rest my case with this dealer.

But these days, good service from them or not?

Flying Brick is now putting certain harder-to-find accessories (which includes stuff WE ourselves import directly...) into various Husky Dealers - product is already in Eddy2Race (Cape Town) , and should shortly be available in both HOLESHOT (Boksburg) as well as C.I.T. (Pretoria city).

If you have questions, just ask; Eddy2Race will tomorrow have quite a lot more product that that shown in the pic, just giving you an idea of some parts available...

Cheers

Good news - I ordered some Husky spares (gaskets, gear lever etc) for my TE610E on 12 October from ASAP Racing ... they needed to come 'ex factory'. Just got a phone call from Penni Will to say they are here - 12 days later! EXCELLENT SERVICE AND COMS from ASAP RACING.  :thumleft:
