Title: TE450 Fuel tank
Post by: DaleB on January 05, 2016, 06:42:56 am
Gents, before I go and buy a new one, anyone got a bigger tank for the te450. I want to do the baja lite so need the 150km range. Nothing supertanker but the standard just won't make it?

Anything?

Look at adding a bum tank - Flying Brick is keeping some of the Nomad ones from OZ. I have used one successfully on my 610 in Lesotho etc.

Will the sub frame handle the Weight?

Will the sub frame handle the Weight?
I rode my G450 X for 4 months without an additional sub-frame brace, then had one fabbed up just to be safe.
The Safari tank takes 8L, so I dont think 5.5L would prove a problem, but if it were me, i'd fab up a simple brace.

Cheers
Chris

Reinforcing the alu subframe under the rear mudguard is is very easy to do, not sure necessary though as the weight is carried quite far forward.
