Title: Seat height
Post by: greper on February 20, 2016, 02:08:43 pm
Hi Dogs,

Can someone help me? What at the bike size differences between the GS and the GSA and can the GS be made to be the same seat height using the manual seat adjustment and pre-load on the bike???
Reason is GSA ride height fits better and the GS has my feet flat on the floor.
Cheers

Do you want it higher or lower?

OEM Seat heights:
GS seat height is 850-870mm in low and high setting respectively
GSA seat height is similarly from 890-910mm

The standard GS seat put on the GSA will lower the seat height by about 20mm. For the slightly vertically challenged (like me), this is a better option than the low seat on two counts. The first is the leg room gets cramped with the OEM "low" seat which lowers it by 30mm on the the GS and 50mm on the GSA. The second reason is that the deep dish sacrifices some comfort for height.

Then you will find a myriad of aftermarket alternatives tat will raise or lower the seat to your hearts desire writhing a +/- 50mm range. If you want to lower the seat and improve leg room, there's also peg lowering kits too...
