Title: SW-Motech Crash Bars Fail
Post by: Trail Blazer on March 09, 2016, 08:04:31 am
Good Day fellow dogs,

I had the misfortune of my LC falling over onto cobble stone, while temporarily parked on the centre stand under a car port.

The resulting damage is disappointing,as the bike has full set of crash bars, crash bar bags etc.

I have since had a look at the original Bmw lower crash bars and the shape and design appears as it might have prevented the damage to my bike.

Any thoughts and suggestions would be much appreciated.

Suggestion: Buy a single. No more scratched valve covers when it topples over :evil6:

Those crash bars are designed so that you can remove that cover without take the crash bars off......I used to have them on my LC and always wondered if they would stop the cover getting damaged...Obviously not :-[ I would add some covers like these.... Not sure if they would both go on together??

That's what happens when a crop sprayer lands on its side.  :peepwall:

Maybe ask TR-Tec to make you a set of wide foot stands to fit on your main stand. :pot: :laughing4:

The OEM product is very effective for this type of incident.  Mine toppled over on tar (don't ask what happened  ::) ) and if you don't know about it, you will not see the effects.
