Hi Guys
My plan was to bring my 690 from south africa to tanzania, but now have an option to swap my 690 in SA with one here in TZ. My only concern is that when I check out the one in TZ I see no oil level in the looking glass, but guess it could also be the glass is not clear. So will be draining the oil to double check.
Motor sounds perfect, it has +- 15 000km on the clock and was serviced last at 12000km, my question is if the oil level was low for a while do you think there could be damage you cant hear while running the motor ?

Sorry for the stupid/obvious question, but was the bike on the side stand or upright when you checked? You should be able to see the oil level very clearly through the glass...

Lol, had it even all the way over to the right almost fell on me :-)

my brand new 2015 used oil from day 1 agents didn't believe me, on 5000 service they changed stem seals, now 100 % now, was factory fault incorrect stem seals

I'd be worried about that for sure, it shouldn't be that low.

thanks, will drain it over the weekend and see how much comes out :-).

drained the oil over the weekend, this is the only oil that was in the bike. Shows you the ktm's can go a little with almost no oil in them.Survice to say I am not doing the swap. Will keep my SA 690 for now.
