Title: Nice Rally Raid tanks, with a little customization
Post by: zebra - Flying Brick on July 19, 2016, 08:14:29 am
Customer of ours popped in with his Rally Raid rear tank on his 690; he is a fabricator, too, so he modified some of the fixtures and fittings, and I think the whole thing makes for a very nice package indeed!

(he bought the tank direct, and not through us).

Cheers

Chris, that is a RR tank for the 690 specifically. Bit it is about R10k to being in from them! That's why I'm looking around for something else.

from a price point of view, they cannot be beat...

Just for what its worth, at this moment you can get it for R5900, until the pound recovers.  That assumes that you already have the billet adapter to connect the 2 tanks.

thanks, designer for Safari went on his own some years back, decided their was a 'gap' for REAR tanks, keeping a 21" front wheel unweighted, and simpler plumbing, etc, and then costing running at around 1/3rd of Safari, so i am a fan (within the products limitations, etc).

Pic below is their largest tank, on an 800GS...

Hi Chris,

Do you know if those washers with the loops welded on are homemade, of commercially available?

I will ask him again -since I am looking for some for my own projects.

Hi Chris,

He made them himself - 5mm stainless rod, and stainless Fender washers.
