Forget a 1200, use the 650 mill and make it 30kg lighter with decent suspension.

Of so sę hulle.

Forget a 1200, use the 650 mill and make it 30kg lighter with decent suspension.

Give the 650 efi to make it Euro4 compliant, put on a 16l plastic tank and leave everything else as it was.

If you want better suspension then modify it or buy a 690. The standard suspension works for 95% of the owners 95% of the time. It does not make sense to make a bike R20,000 more expensive, more failure prone and more difficult to service and repair (USD forks) just to make a few buyers happy. The OEM rear shock is not bad at all. Get a stiffer spring or a gym contract if you're fat. And maybe get the damper re - valved.

And sorry but a DR 30kg lighter is simply not realistic. You would likely struggle to get more than 15kg off and that would come with a hefty price tag for an aluminium chassis and the loss of the bikes suitability as a DS bike as in flimsy sub - frame which snaps off as soon as it has to carry more than a beach towel.

Urm, Capie, I think he was referring to the Strom 650 motor as apposed to the 1200/1000.
