Title: MAP: Africa, Cape-to-Cairo
Post by: zebra - Flying Brick on November 02, 2016, 01:13:55 pm
after not being asked for such a map for maybe 24+ months, we got two requests in just 10 days...!
So now available - the 1st Edition of the AFRICA: Cape To Cairo Map; includes motorways, toll roads, major, minor and DIRT roads, main map scale: 1 : 4000 000. R125 incl. I reckon 10% of it's value is as an actual map, the other 90% is just to stare at it, dreaming/willing a Cape-to-Cairo trip to become reality...!

Cheers,
Chris & Team

How big does it open up as one big map?
roughly 1 meter 40 long, and 1 meter wide.
it is BOTH sided, meaning that some of the detail is on the flip side.

See picture with tyre, for illustration of it's size.

Cheers

You may want to check out the Tracks4Africa physical maps.  They are really handy, especially when used in conjunction with a GPS: https://tracks4africa.co.za/maps/about/paper/

For the most part, Google Maps will serve you just fine within the Republic itself.

ok, I rung Grahamstown PostNet: they received the map on 17th November, and then their system sent an 'automatic' SMS to your phone (according to PostNet), and then within 24 hours, they then MANUALLY send a 'manual' SMS, and that SMS was meant to be sent by Darian (?) because  they tick their book when a manual SMS is sent - and their book was not ticked...  :(

So I am guessing no follow-up SMS was sent, and I think they need a kick up the bum...

So apologies, but seems PostNet have had the parcel for past 12 days or so.

thanks for your support, Edgy!
