Worked on this DR for a while.
The result is a low maintenance, long range, comfortable mid engine adventure bike that kinda looks good too.
Cheers

Super Cool Hardy :drif: :drif: :drif:

Hi
2014 DR650 SE bought earlier in 2015.
Suspension front and rear sorted by SuperFoxy on the forum. It works really well.
Heavy Duty tubes and Dunlop tyres supplied by Runner from Off Road Cycles
Pro Taper bars and bar risers supplied by Runner
20 liter tank supplied by Runner - I find the 25 liter a little too much in technical sections for the kind of riding we do
Lower foot pegs supplied by Superfoxy
Hot grip pegs supplied by Pro Cycle in the US
Hot Grip brake pedal supplied by Pro Cycle
DG Exhaust supplied by Pro Cycle
Luggage top rack by Pro Cycle
Luggage pannier racks by Chris from Flying Brick (works really well)
Enduristan heat shield from Chris and Amanda from Dustriders
Oversize lockable tool tube by Pro Cycle
Acerbis skid plate by Pro Cycle
Carburetor kit by Pro Cycle - It makes a big difference
Eye rings for easy tie down - get it from any 4x4 accessory supplier
Lynx Fairing with full LED lights and relays from Brittania Concepts in Canada- speak to Ian
I did not like the stock flappy front mudguard and replaced it with a super moto mudguard which works better and enhances your view of the front wheel.
The fairing took two hours to install and gives you options in terms of power ports, gps etc. It also de - clutter your steering, which I prefer, without additional weight.

Beautifully done. Probably as close to the perfect DR as I have seen yet :thumleft:

Dankie baie :thumleft:

Really nice looking bike!
-
So....how much you selling for?
-
Edgy
This is the one bike that I will never sell.
I have a few other bikes and whenever I plan a trip to some remote location, I catch myself ignoring them all to again go with the DR.
I have had the GSA's and I have had the 1190R's and I have a 950 SE, but I promise you, after 20 odd trips to the Kakoland and Damaraland I have come to trust the dr650 to be the best all rounder for that terrain. I have just told Kykdaar about a friend of mine that was riding a XRR and tried to kick it on a 40 degree incline in Van Zyl's pass. He smashed his shins and abandoned the attempt, and threw down his bike out of frustration.
I was sitting next to him trying to assist in keeping the bike stable while he was busy irritating himself. XRR is a fantastic bike and more capable than the DR in many respects, BUT after owning both, I will most probably settle for a little less power and smile as I push that happy button.

Baie netjies Hardy!
Ek hou veral van die fairing en die lig set-up! Bietjie duur vir my, so ek is besig met die 2 LED spot installasie. ;D
Soos jy weet is ek ook 'n groot DR fan. :thumleft:

Ja dit is PSP
Johan (ander pilot) het hom vir my ingebring van Pro Cycle af

Daai fairing.... daai voorlig... daai AGTERREM... :drif:
Hierdie DR lyk FANTASTIES :thumleft: :thumleft: :thumleft:

And me - I have a 1994 DR650R. And you don't want to stall this in places that make it difficult to kick start it again.
