Title: Stainless Mesh Oil Filters
Post by: Colin Kaapschehoop on June 13, 2017, 11:34:38 pm
Hi! I've been thinking about using Scotts stainless steel mesh filters for my 690, as they are reusable and not affected by water. I haven't heard anything about how they perform apart from the manufacturer's advertising. Does anyone have experience using them? Are there any other reputable brands available locally?

used the scotts in the SE no problems,
With the husky and I think the ktm the sevice interval is 15k,Not really worth the effort.
If its water your worried about then yes it helps but in over 100 000k never had water pump seal fail

Used it on the PitBike (aka 690R) for the last 60 000km+ problem free. It even removed that fine metal powder when I tried to operate the machine without oil.
Only reason why I use it is that I got it for free.

Thanks for the answers! Does anyone know where I could get them, new, used or lying around taking up space?
