Title: Broken screen bracket
Post by: krokonoster on July 17, 2017, 08:59:43 am
note: accidentally double posted in ADV section, sorry about that.

Hi,

Broke my one "thing" the windshield is attached to.  Still attached but vibrating so dunno how long it will last (actually taped it up yesterday when going offroad)
Figured ask here before paying my @r$e off with dealer (not that I asked)

Not clear on pic, sorry.  But hope will suffice to show what I"m looking for.

Motoradical have a stabiliser bracket available too, that will help prevent damage due to excessive vibration.

Yep was advised to get that.

But I'm taking off the original screen next week to put on a slipstream, so I'm good for now.  I think....lemme go look how much is that stabilizer (one thing the older GS's are better....)

Show us what the slipstream looks like.
PS. I have aftermarket Kappa brackets available. Bigger screens have more wind resistance - hence the extra support needed.

Did anyone get a link or video explaining how to replace the f*#^@n thing?

The one end fit over a shaft that guide it when you adjust the shield up or down but ... uuurgh, was in rush to get back to work so told guy at BMW I'll be alright to replace it. Lies!
