Title: Looking for long-range tank for DRZ
Post by: BigBoer on November 15, 2017, 11:04:24 am
I'm looking for a long-range tank for a DRZ400.  Preferably a Safari 28liter but IMS or Acerbis will also do.
I have been running a "Wanted" post in the "for sale" section for a while without much success (except for a new one)...maybe there is someone in the dedicated dr/drz group that can assist.

Since no-one seems to be willing to part with a large DRZ tank I bought a new 15 liter Acerbis from Runner....

The price was R5k....black one.

Fitted it to the bike yesterday evening, looks good with the yellow/white plastics.

That is a very good price.

Was not too sure what the bike would look like with the black tank but it actually looks okay....will post some pics when I get a chance.

Maak nou n kansie en stuur daai pics van die swart tank.  Ek oorweeg ook n groter  tank en sal graag die verskillende opsie wil sien.

have you contacted safari? the exchange rate is not too bad at the moment, I bought mine directly from them in 2006/7, no issues

Die bike is vuil maar dis die enigste foto wat ek huidiglik het....ek het intussen ook swart side-covers opgesit...

I have bought a Safari tank for my DR650 from "Just Gas Tanks" around 2009 also, no hassles..incidentally it was cheaper at the time to buy from America instead of Australia.
I just couldn't justify the price difference (price vs. volume) between the Acerbis vs. Safari....and I got the black Acerbis for a good price and supported a good friend in the process.
