Title: 701 Service/maintenance costs
Post by: w@nted on January 25, 2018, 11:55:01 am
Hi All

Can I please have some feedback regarding the cost of services and spares on the 701 enduro? I am familiar with BMW pricing, so it will be nice to compare.  :deal:

Regards

I can only speak for the 690 but it should be more or less the same. Service kit plus oil should be <1k. Add an hour or two labour if you do it at the dealer but oil service is dead easy to do yourself. If Husky are anything like KTM, spares are actually really reasonably priced

My bike was serviced at the dealer as it is still under warranty.  The 10 000 kms service cost R 3 300 but they had to check the clutch.  If you take off 1 hour labour for that it would have been R 2 850.  The 20 000 kms service was R 4 110.  This includes checking valve shims and new spark plugs.

Wonder how they "check the clutch "  :sip:

Very simple, removed it from the engine and did a visual inspection.

Hi Noneking

Thanks for the pics. I test rode that exact bike at bikers warehouse on saturday. Very nice bike, awesome off road. The trip the guys did across the equator with the 701 s sounds amazing.

I am however looking for a 2017 model :ricky:

I am very jealous!

I just hope I find a buyer quickly...

The Husky dealerships are not keen to trade in my BMW at all... :'(

Looks like all the dealerships are awaiting new stock...I spoke to Bikers warehouse, CIT and Holeshot motorcycles.

Go park your GS at PC2Es shop, he sold my GSA at a very good price for a minimal fee

Thanks Noneking, will try that soon. The only issue is that the GS is my only transport, will have to get on the bicycle to work if the bike is in a showroom somewhere
