Post by: Warren Ellwood on September 11, 2008, 12:09:44 pm: Recently at Canal Walk, Paperweight had a display in the main "arena" where they had a huge amount of books, magazines etc for sale at really bargain prices. I don't usually buy the American and English bike mags from Exclusive books for instance as R100.00 for a mag is alot of beer money.

But I did find a magazine amongst the Paperweight bargains called TBM. It is an English publication aimed at DS, trailbikes, enduro and dirt junkies, and what a mag. 150 pages of excellent articles, tests etc even some about SA, and it sold for R10.00. Okay it was the May issue in August.

Has anyone else seen this mag around as I wouldn't mind lashing out for a mag like this every now and then. But since then I havn't seen it anywhere again and the lady at Paperweight did not really know how they came to have 50 copies. A real pity.

I have to agree that the british motoring/motorcycling mags have an amazing amount of content!

Post by: LanceSA on September 12, 2008, 07:32:58 am: For years I had a subscription to Dirt Bike Rider (USA). A 2 year subscriptions cost me $ 45 x 8 = R360 for 24 months = R15 a mag! Cheaper than any SA mag. And I received the mags months before CNA.
I have sent TBM a message asking about an international subscription. Will post their answer.
Interestingly I was in Germany earlier in the year. I counted at least 5 different adventure bike magazines. Definitely growth trend world wide.

CNA is probably the only shop I haven't checked for some reason.

It will be interesting to see if they will do overseas subcriptions. Look forward to their answer.
