Title: How to adjust the idle-speed on a Husky 701?
Post by: BuRP on May 06, 2018, 08:08:51 pm
As the title says, I feel mine, 2018 model, is running too high but dunno how to adjust it lower.
Anyone?

Lol Manfred, how should I know?
No rev-counter!
But I want it lower, never mind where it's at at the mo  ;)

Found this, may or may not help, but worth a try (Some not applicable though)

- Idle stop screw or eletronic idle level setting not adjusted correctly (probably not a big surprise....)
- Throttle cable jammed so the throttle valves can not close.
- Cable to cold start lever jammed so the throttle valves can not close.
- Throttle valves not correctly synced
- Throttle position sensor (TPS) not correctly adjusted
- Leaking intake rubber hoses between throttle valve housing and cylinder head
- Faulty oil temperature sensor or water temperature sensor

Thanks Manfred,

but all's fine, it's a new bike.
I just want to set the idle speed lower but dunno how this works on this bike, hence my question.

I've never had to adjust idle speed on a FI bike.....

Why do you say it's 'running too high'? Based on?

My ears Dwerg, I want the revs lower, it's a bit too hasty for my liking.
But, with the absence of reactions here I reckon I better go see a dynoroom, perhaps a re-tune/flash is in order - which obviously will do more than just the idle speed.

Anybody's done that perhaps?
If so, why did you, and what was the outcome?
