Title: Heated grips
Post by: GhostSixFour on April 18, 2019, 10:17:32 am
So it appears that the throttle side heated grip has stopped working. :(

Has anyone tried this "operation" before?

Did it work for you? Is there any place that I can contact that might have grips other than BMW? R3k seems a bit steep for a piece of plastic..

That soldering fix worked temporarily for me as there where some others breaks along the rest of the heating pad. I landed up getting a new heating pad from AliExpress and founds some OEM grips from Suzuki South in CT. You can otherwise get 2 sets of generic grips from Trac-Mac and just use the Throttle grips, as heated grip rubbers have a larger diameter.

There is a whole thread in it somewhere

Had about 3 breaks in the element on my clutch side. Soldered 3 strands of copper wire in with the idea that it is stuffed can't screw it up more.
But managed to repair and must say so far no issues
