Title: WCOC 2020 - Advise
Post by: SparkMark on January 27, 2020, 10:54:06 am
Hey all,

I'm going to be taking part in the WCOC 2020 this year, with the aim of improving my riding and get some more time in the saddle with the ultimate aim of preparing for KR 2020.

I've got my MSA license and a number.

What else do I need to do ?
What else do I need ?

Thanks
Mark

Hi,

Up in Gauteng we must be affiliated with a club before registering with MSA - assume it's the same in the WC and that you have done that already. Race regulations specify the colour of your number and number board and other important things to know. You can download it from the MSA website.

You will enter for races on the Race Control website. When you enter there is a checklist with all the stuff you need at the race i.e specific medical kit, fire extinghuiser, etc

Shout if you need more info.

Enjoy

As long as you have a valid msa competition license you can enter on the day, sure they will take your entry.  NB you cant purchase a msa lic on the day only online

Remember us guys over 50 require a stress ECG every three years before purchasing a license

Everything sorted my side for Wellington tomorrow.
Hope there is some trees because my gazebo was blown away December holiday....and we start after 10h00 only!
Fitness not on par, but that is the purpose for me to "take part"... improving fitness before Tankwa qualifier.
I am on a tight schedule here...

So, Wellington "race" done and dusted.

Next year I will be back, even if this is the only "race" I do. "Race", because I am actually not racing, just taking part.
It is such an awesome route, with limited open fast track.
for long sections the route is in river beds , single track between doring boompies, etc, etc.
Slower, shaded with a bit of technical.
Strongly recommended ! :thumleft:
