How many people guessed before the arrest that the guy in the bakkie had dry and damaged hair.

Gets the juices flowing , but some  "reckless shots" fired, with the risk of hitting someone in the back ground  .

There was a car ahead of the 1400, while he was shooting, not to far outside of the line of fire.

Nice to see the SAPS kicking ass though.

Welldone to the SAP for making the arrest but I would have been embarrassed as a good cop to post a video like this simply because of quoted post. This sort of behavior would have had you fired on the spot like I have witnessed in PSD work. All but professional.
However, what matters most is that the arrest was made.

Al daai mannekrag en moeite vir n Nissan 1400.

Ek wonder of hulle dieselfde effort insit as dit by ernstige misdaad kom.

Biker cop was fortunate that it was a Nissan 1400. That’s about the only 4 wheeler a Gs800 can outrun. :imaposer:

My 2c, go look at where the car in front is while he is firing and notice how the moment the car gets near his line of fire he stops firing. I think he was executing a well trained procedure.

At least he got some - right side / hip you can see the wet blood as well as against the vehicle as he gets out.  02:05 into the video.

Besides that, it's only a 9mm pistol, doesn't carry that far.
Well done SAPS  :thumleft: :thumleft: :thumleft:

Had you done similar shooting as a civilian you would've been arrested for negligence. A 9mm can easily travel 2km and there was a lot of traffic ahead of the bantam.

This cop is awesome. I love the fact that he walks away after the perp is down and let's the tresseme gang carry on.

But yeah the dct would be a killer solution.

I agree EXCELLENT work! What a pity that the real SKELMS are not trying to flee in an old Nissan bakkie. They are behind executive desks.

While I agree that these criminals should be executed on the spot, the law works differently.

Here I see a cop basically shooting a fleeing suspect, possibly unarmed, in the back?

How can this be correct procedure, in the light of the law?

Care to show us where the perp was shot in the back. I saw him shooting at the right front wheel, nothing more.

I hear what 2SD is saying and also wondering what is the correct legal procedure and if it is different for cops vs us. We also don't know what happened  before the start of the video. When the guy falls out of the bakkie you can see he is bleeding from the hip. (minute 3,26 in the video) I applause this cop, but just wondering what would happen if I get on my bike chasing a hijacker of my car and shoot at him while Im chasing him, or chasing a robber and starts shooting while he is running away.
I also want that option.

While he was following the bakkie, the cop fired several shots straight into the rear of the bakkie. Is this not the same as shooting at a man running away?

I do realise that the cop had to neutralise the thief, before he drove over or into someone though.

I think the difference here is while this guy if fleeing in a vehicle it can be argued that he is endangering other road users, so stopping him as soon as possible might save other lives. Agreed, that if any civilian shoots at a fleeing person he will be in trouble, unless you plead the same. Just a guess

I agree, and of course the "Tresemme gang" :imaposer: :imaposer: is too poorly trained to stop him with a well executed PIT maneuver.

I am sure that we would have heard from the Tresemme gang by now if anything was untoward during this episode, given the race of the cop and the race of the perp.

This cop needs his salary doubled.

And perhaps an offline chat about not seeming to be so proud of the shots you fired...some clever attorney is going to use that against him.

There should be more to this story than what is showed on camera.

Why would so many units and even the airwing respond to a stolen 1400?

For the airwing to fly and shoot like that, this guy must have been wanted for something more me thinks.
