Title: Pre 2000's bike bodywork.

I've seen it with my XRV, I've seen it with my VFR, the bodywork/fairings are starting to fall apart. Both are 23yrs old and the plastics are giving up the ghost. Patching is just that, patching. But there is always a new crack developing somewhere.
What options are there? I'm assuming replacement 2nd-hand are just as old so I would face the same issues in short order.

I am having the same issues with plastics. Best is to look into replacement parts from Polisport or Acerbis. Some parts are still available new or as reproductions. (talking  XR 400R). Refurbishing the original plastic is possible but does nor address the issue of brittleness.

Yes..... I've had this with my old Transalp starting now as well.... The fairing panels are ABS, and become brittle after years of (ab) use....
Found that Q-Bond worked fairly well to sort out hair-cracks, but only time will tell!
