Title: Lito, Scribble and Masehare ride Tygervalley
Post by: droffarc on February 13, 2006, 09:31:49 am
A few minutes after Macduff, Mango and Sotkop departed, Masehare arrived and we went through the slalom routines again
(http://sticky.wikispaces.com/space/showimage/TygBg_%2810%29.JPG)
but they soon tired of this and Lito showed them the more ADVENTUROUS things, beginning with the up down climb and then progressed to some even more ADVENTUROUS thingz with steeper inclines and stuff:

All three riders seemed to take these in their stride.
They then went foth to get some liquidity and some interesting riding.

The aftermath: After the Tygerberg technicals, these three musketeers went playing in the sand while others attended KiLerSA's mechanical workshop. Lito (right) got dehydrated, Masehare (middle) got stuck in the sand and was pulled out by the KTM while Scribble brought home two minor sanddunes in his boots. Then they all fell into KiLer's water feature.

Thanks to everone involved: Lito, for the wonderful riding tips and forcing sludge into my front tube, KiLer for showing us some spannering tricks, the wors and the beer and everybody else for pitching, having fun and telling some good stories. Especially Scribble who has some nice travelling tales.

Thanks for the great trip guys. Seems like my battery chose the worst place to die. Couldn't even get it charged at home.

Masehare, did you get a replacement yet? Very interested to hear what happens. Thanks boet. Its amazing really. I nearly rode my Dakars battery DRY, all the water was gone, I refilled it, and it was AOK. Man did I get a good bike or what? Very lucky I must admit

Yup, replacement's on my desk. R480 at Hamman Motorrad or R285 at Trac Mac. I recon an Exide battery in a BMW box isn't worth an extra R200.... Anyway, we tried to refill + charge the old battery, but it just boiled and never took any charge. Someone once said that you need to replace a battery every year anyway. Any truth in that?

Big difference in price. I dont think theres an ounce of truth in that ruhmah about changing batteries once a year. Crap.

But glad to hear youre back on the road! Sweet 8)

Yes - Hein is the unsung hero. Did we tell you that when I phoned him to say HEY - come pick us up in the 4x4 (the KTM was sukkeling to pull out the Bmw out of the sand - until we realised that the dern Bimmer was in gear and being dragged!!!!)  - that Hein got the 4x4 up, fixed a puncture with Sot help I believe - and packed a coolbox with tons of ice and beers?

MAN, what a gesture!!!!!! Hein,  youre da best mate!!!!          :thumbleft:  :thumbright:  :angel9:

Thanks Scribble for your compliments, you are most kind. I see you plucked your courage up and did things you said you wouldnt, so I am stoked for you dude. You did great!

MaenPasehare, you did great too - except for keeping it gear when I was towing you in the sand  :P  - listen mate, theres a thread on solenoids you should check out in the bike section, very informative!

More pics please, I would like to see everyone of them, I will gladly host if you send em to me email wise.

Naaah, don't worry, it's a disposable mail account. Can't get more spam than I'm already receiving.

Seems like some people can see the pics - Scribble can. Who else can't see the pics?

well, heres  the rest of the pics from that Saturday afternoon.

thats me - man down in the sand, my vision was blurry, and I couldnt even just sit. I fell down into the shade provided by my beast, using it to recover

This is the trench created by the Katoom towing the F650, while the Bimmer was still in freken gear!!!

We were so knackered that we were too tired to make it right peg to left peg in order to tow. This is a sight you wont see everyday!

We almost gave up. Sitting in the shade of our bikes, it was stonking hot

Success! Masehare kindly decided to put his bike into neutral so that we could tow it out of there, the Katoom now relished moving forward with ease.
