the 525 is very high strung
the 625 is the 640 without the large tank and plastics
you get a large 27 litre tank for the 625
the newer model 625 also has a bigger oil capacity ie. you dont need to replace the oil every 5min
-
BUT- i heard you get something like 80km's with the 9 l tank. Thats nasty. Is it true? (since i'm used to be able to reach almost 500km's)

Depends on the throttle hand!!! Did up to 140km at reasonable speeds - but still not very much!!

well ktm is not as fuel efficient as other bikes
but then you also race it you dont ride it so thats even worst then
if you just plotter along on a 625 at 100km/h you will get same mileage as on klr

by the way here's a good comparison between 625, dr 650 and xt660:

I had a 625sxc, very nice bike. You probably look at 120-140km per tank depending on throttle abuse. Each bike is unique and you need to decide on what you wanna use the bike for.
Short distance i would go for the 525 longer trips the 625. The 625 engine will last longer without a rebuild required.

My 640 get on average 15km/ l, but this can vary. If i really hammer it it will do 12km/l and if I go easy it will +20km/l
-
Like anton said
I have had 22 km/l !
-
I'm prob not going to ride like grandma.
18L tank will have to be installed. (nts)
How about long trips. Like 400km/day. Do you have gel/wool seats?
-
I have done a couple of over 700kms a day rides and you do get monkey butt. I dont see the need for a air hawk or similiar thing.
-
Ask Smithey on the forum - did around 1600km round trip??? :thumleft:

Ive done 1200kms in a day needless to say the blood in my ass only arrived the next day.
