Title: I ordered my bike!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I ordered my F650GS.(Sorry Groenie but ,yes I tasted the BMW and I bought it.

I have to say I looked at the KLE500 as Shark suggested BUT it is only a 500 and sorry the Transalp is too heavy.

BUT what a battle to get a GS.There is no stock.Auto Bavaria in Pretoria was so nice to assist and there is a red one on the floor on hold till tomorrow morning 9am.If the guy doesn't take it it will say"SOLD to Miena Moo" :lol: :lol: :lol: :lol: :lol:

If it is taken then I have to wait a week. :cry:
I think it will be worth the wait although I won't sleep for a week.

Will post pictures as soon as I get my baby.

I'm so glad you did not listen to the "the bike is too heavy" posts. You are supposed to RIDE it and not CARRY it. I think the folks at Hills and Dales are going to get a bit gatvol of the GS riders going up and down their precious roads. :D :D :D :D :D :D

Shark I think your previouse reply that mentioned something about the girls should stick to the GS,KLE .......sort off narrowed my search.

So sorry boet there was just no comparrison between the GS and the KLE :twisted:

Unfortunately Groenie had to sign at the bank so we had 2 Vehicles and my baby was loaded on the back of the bakkie,with me following in moms taxi.I had a smile all the way home and wanted to tell everybody that looked at my baby that its mine.

It has 17km on the clock after I took her for a spin.(Groenie was allowed to take her for a spin as well,and he admitted to enjoying it)

Will see if I can arrange a baby sitter and join you guys for a beer on Friday with my new baby!!!!!!

Here is me and my baby.Still need a name for her.Any suggestions?

Post by: Groenie on January 25, 2007, 11:04:06 am: I agree with you guys, it is a very nice bike. My first imressions were that it's a lot better than the bigger BM's. I sat on all of them at Auto Bavaria, the HP2, 1200 GS and Adv. They don't talk to me :?: :!: The HP2 gave me the imression of sitting on a tube frame with a moerse engine attached to it. That's all, no passion. But the Red Calf has a lot more character. You want to take it for a spin, which I did off course. Lekker power, great brakes (anything's better than a KLR's) and much better to stand up than the KLR. I'm quite tall, and it's got more space between the handle bar and pegs.

All in all, I'm quite chuffed with the newest addition to the family.

And now for the farkles.......

I see lots of goodies I can build for it. Centre stand - R1700 + at TT!!!
Bash plate, goeie donner that thingy can't be more than 1 mm thick.
Exhaust - what were they thinking? Like my Dad said last night: "Bliksems Moer Windgat" :lol:
