Metro Cop Shop?? :D :D :D :D
-
New toys for the SPEED cops ?

I think those are for the Ugandan police force, mate of mine was there on Saturday and asked about them. No ways our spietkops will be riding such nice equipment...

Hey, the Tshwane Metro Police scoot around on pretty decent machines. I've seen quite a few R 1200s in various guises (GS, ST, R)!
-
Maybe in Tswane but I haven't seen a Metro spietkop on a bike in looooong time!
-
Tshwane have all models of BMW's
Old Funduro's, 650 GS , Dakars, 1150's 1200's
-
We must ask the lifestyle product provider about their association with the Spietkops? :D

I see the Metro's finest spietcops around Joeys now and then, I would not be too worried that they have new bikes, they destroy them faster than BMW can repair them, and most of the pilots of these lovely machines have rear ends wider than the panniers of those RT's.. :D :D
I've seen them at Lyndhurst Auto, they pop in there for coffee most mornings, far to much effort to be out there sorting out the traffic.......!
They are often in getting punctures repaired as well, they spend all day in the emergency lanes, just where all the debris lies...

Such a waste of a beautiful bike - they'll all be scrap by mid year!
Heard that the Bonkhorstspruit Metro's have invested in a squad of ZX14's to pursue errant breakfast run bikers in their area - now that's a frightening thought!
-
Saw a lady cop near Bucclueh. It was a well proportioned lady without any protective gear apart from a helmet. I did not know that they made uniforms that size. The bike looked like the ones on the photograph. She was having a very serious talk with a guy without a number plate.
Maybe size did count.

unless you stop, what they gonna do? you cannot radio for backup when you're doing 290, believe me i know! i guess it boils down to who has the most fuel in their tank

This is yet another example of a scenario that is oh so typical within the structures of our brilliant New SA Government and its agencies: The blind faith in a material solution for all problems and to fulfill all dreams! One can just wonder what type of human material will be riding these machines. The bike will not compensate for incompetence, laziness and an absence of integrity ? to name but a few aspects :pukeright: I wonder if Robert McBride would be interested in taking one for a spin? Isn?t BMW tainting its name (respected so dearly on this Forum) through its love affair with this lot?
-
Surely if their "rear ends" are wider than paniers, the wind resistance will be huge!!! Even a deliverboy on his scooter will out run them??  :D

Those in photo most likely on their way to Uganda as SuperJuice mention, will be used to escort dignities around for the Commonwealth summit being held there, I think in 2008 if im correct
