So Wednesday 27th arrived and Hazzard pitched up to my spot ready to face the heat of some awesome gravel roads up to Tsitsa falls where we would meet his brother in law Sromrider who was travelling up from Durban an all.
The plan was to have a bit of fun at the falls then on Thursday go through Naudesnek to Rhodes,Barkly East, Lady Grey to Gariep Dam and then Friday to Vanderkloof to meet the brother and sister dogs.
Since I was supposed to have a few days off we were going to go back to Rhodes to camp and catch some trout for a few days but alas this was not to be. We were hammered by hail 250mm up to 300mm in 10 or so minutes on Thursday morning and floods on the pass, the rain continued in Rhodes I believe up to Tuesday 2nd.We road in freezeing rain nearly all the way to Gariep. My companions were blue with cold and are still trying to align their teeth.
Here are some photos of the trip .
Warning lots of water fall photos………..

There is no electricity, only lanterns; the water is heated by a wood fired donkey which will boil your skin off. The hosts Adrian and Angela made us feel as we were part of the family and Angelas food was nothing short of excellent.

Hey Drazil
Cool pics, I enjoyed that trip, rain, hail and the works. I had heavy mist for a solid 150km on the way home from Kokstad to Cato ridge in the dark. Got home about 20:30 Sunday night but in one piece. My butt was angry with me after some 1046km on the road. Damn, it was a long ride but glad I went. Hope to join you again sometime soon in the future.
Till then...safe riding :ricky:
