Must be a pretty good deal he got, cause Im sure he can easily get a factory ride over in Europe on the enduro scene there.

If, like some people reckon, racing and results are not important, why would KTM incur these costs on themselves? Interesting situation, even more so in SA, with our small market.

Yeah they need him to stop Husky making a clean sweep of it next year.  :ricky:

Go Figure.....

Our guys want to get to Europe or the States and here we have an international rider riding in our small league.

I can understand a guest appearance, but makes me wonder what the deal is?  :deal:

I think he is coming here because RSA is becomng better known for the super tough enduros we put together and the excellent organisation too - not always the case in all european events

I also think that Chris Birch is so good that he will make a clean sweep of his races next year barring any mechanical failure. If I was a pro rider, including our current national champ, I would start looking for another line of work cos this Kiwi is good, damn good.

Had chris come past me on day one of the 2008 roof, i was using my butt as a skid plate down a rock face and he came past as if he was on the N2, that guy can ride.....

This assumption is based on what?

Chris Birch is very good, it just seem odd that a man would prefer to win SA title rather than UK/ European/ US..... Saw this with the Hiscock brothers in roadracing in the 80's. Either, it seems to me, a case of big fish in small pond or a very lucrative package.
Alfie needs this against Gutzeit on Yamaha.

I think it is awesome that he rides here for a season. Who cares what the deal is, it will be great for us and our young and upcoming riders. It will no doubt help Jade, Darryl, Louwrens, Altus, Riaan and all the other boys competing against Chris in every race.

This can only be good, and if KTM is paying....why not?

I am really looking forward to the 2011 season  :drif: :drif:

Having riders like Chris ride a season in SA is great news... Adds to our international exposure, and helps raise our local riders' game.
Always a good thing.  :thumleft:
