Hi All

As most of you know, DaggaBoer Farmstall belongs to my inlaws.

Its 50kms out of Cradock on the N10 towards Cookhouse/PE.

Well, to get to the point of this thread...

Weg Magazine is having a competition on the best Farmstall in South Africa

And Daggaboer has made it into the Top 15!!!

This is remarkable, considering that they are up against some BIG names like Nanaga, Dassiesfontein etc...

Nanaga is not what it used to be, should not even be considdered in my opinion !

Its way too commercial ! Too mant factory made things there !

I agree Glenink... Lotsa these bigger names are getting way too commercialized...

We are banking on that counting against them...  ;)

I'm originally from Cradock and must agree. Never drive past Daggaboer without stopping. I've also voted for it in the Weg.

New issue of Weg is out, and it's official.

The 5 judges from Weg visited the padstal "undercover", so there was no preferential treatment given to them...

And they ended  up voting Daggaboer as the most authentic overall "plaas" experience.

Remarkable!!!!

Congratulations to Charl & Isobel and all the other staff involved.

The long hours and hard work doesnt go unnoticed.

Unfortunately they dont win anything, except the bragging rights and a certificate from Weg...  :-\

And obviously the publicity and hopefully, the increased clientele from people using the N10 route.

What a worthy winner! Definitely the #1 padstal in the country.

It is impressive how Weg seems to come up with original ideas like this padstal comp.  Now I want to visit all the other finalists that I haven't been to yet...

Isobel's brother, Barry Pienaar, was one of Fred's lawyers in the Inge Lotz murder case.

He is just behind Fred in that pic.

Bella has a fetish for pics, as you might have noticed...

Chairman, dis rerig klein.  Soos ek verstaan is Bus se inlaws ('skoonpa') my vrou se oom.  (Nie dat mens seker nou elke dag wil erken dat iemand so laag op die ewolusie leer soos Bus remotely tot jou verbind kan wees nie . . .)
