Title: Uni filter in your 690?
Post by: 777 on July 08, 2011, 05:02:20 pm
Any one using a Uni filter , do you have to make any mods to airbox and engine mapping?

No mods required.  A 15min idle reset would be a good idea to extract the benefits.  I ran it for about a week without resetting while waiting for my Wings exhaust without a hassle.  During that time the fueling continued to suck and the stalling issue remained.  At least I did not get the Kalahari in my airbox anymore.

The bike must be completely cold, pref left over night.

Switch ign key on.  Twist throttle completely open and then close it again.  Switch off ignition key. (TPS re-set)

Switch ign key on again.  Without using throttle, start engine.  Let it idle for 15 min.  Do not use the throttle.  Watch temp, it should remain OK if your fan works.  I have a large capacity fan that I aim into the rad, but I live near Upington.  After 15 min, shut off with ign key.

Take it for a spin and be amazed.

During this process. Is the red on/off switch off untill the bike is started? Or does it stay on all the time?

I have pipe and Uni filter, no wonder things are a bit farked.
