Title: Budget HD Camcorder Advice Needed
Post by: rival on August 16, 2011, 01:28:21 pm
Have to get a camcorder (baby's on the way), but have no clue what to get.  ???

Had a look at the Canon HF R206, which I assume is the same as the Canon HF R200, and for the price it seems worth it. Quite like the idea of the 2 SD slots, and the 20x zoom should be more than enough.  Also had a look at the entry level Sony CX110/160 but the reviews are not that great. Would prefer not spending more than about R4k. Panasonic also seems to have nice reasonably priced cameras, but I can't find any local prices...

Any advice on budget high-def camcorders?

Get a GO-Pro full HD camera.   Then you can use it afterwards as well...!

Ended up buying a Sony CX130 that was on special at Makro this past weekend. Included an external harddrive, and cables for direct transfer which is quite convenient. Not a bad deal.

Thanks for the offer on the Canon vstromPE...  :thumleft: Good luck with the sale.
