Post by: weskus on October 03, 2011, 12:40:59 pm

I also got a quote for the 2010 KTM and after receiving the mail 2 hours ago only regain my conscience now, R1150.00

Also try auto and general. Think I've got a shweet deal with them: 2003 BMW GS1150, worth R58500 - premium R360, excess R2500 and they recently paid out - no issues

For the last 2 years I thought I had awesome Insurance.

On my GSA Insured for R180 000 I only paid R470.
On my GT Insured for R155 000 only paid R327.

Until, and I hate fine print............

I gave all my stuff to a different broker to see if he can work a package deal out for me on all my vehicles cars included, he then informed me that with my Current Insurers, being Quicksure, on both my bikes I have a R30 000 excess each incase of accident, theft etc etc....

I now pay more for my bikes, but only have a fixed R2 500 excess.
Moved my stuff to Outsurance.

Outsurance actually sucks with bike cover in general because they stay away from high risk insurance.
The only time you get good rates from them is if you have built up a good profile rating
with them. I have been with them for many years and am getting preffered rates because
of my claim status, but otherwise they are rediculously priced.

Quicksure. Eks 24 jaar oud.

is.

Premie by sulke versekeraars sÍ niks.............dis so goedkoop juis omdat die polis so

Eks tevrede.

Semi hijack.

For our foreign visitors:
A British friend just moved to Cape Town from Angola, with a SA work visa and a legit Angolan SADC drivers licence which allows him to drive/ride just about anything under the sun.
And it is completely legit!

Any case.
He want to pickup his new F800GS from Atlantic Motorrad tomorrow, but BMW Insurance will not insure as he does not yet have a permanent address. He is still in hotel, looking for a house.
Now what?
Anybody heard of this problem before, but more importantly, any suggestion?

Let him use your address if you are close enough. Say he is renting a room from you.

Exactly, or give his work's street address. He must just remember to change it as soon as he moves to his own place. This worked for me on two occasions previously.

Cheers

net 'n verwysing

Not a bad idea.
Unless FICA kicks in.
Let's see what happens.

If any one is interested I may be able to offer insurance on your bikes providing there is supporting business. (House contents)
I am currently paying less than R250/m for my 2009 Honda XL 700V Transalp valued at R65400 with R7500 extras.
If you are a good risk send me a PM and I will see what I can do.

I am apparently extremely high risk 42 year old...... :eek7:

2001 Dakar - insured for R40K - R366p/m
2010 GSA - insured for R170K (including extras) -  R1344p/m

Excess on both is R2500 afaik - bith with Outsurance.

All because I was too doff to get a license at 18 and only got it last year.... :imaposer:
