Title: Bella's first ride report
Post by: Maverick on March 27, 2006, 12:46:46 pm
So what's a dog to do, your master wants you to get on the bike and all choice I have to bark in the matter is being stuffed in a Touratech Alu box, strapped and harnassed for security.

Think Bike uuhhh it should be think Dog!

So off we go for a mile ride in the country side, the wind in my face and ears flapping in the wind - this is life
We arrive at my favourite walking spot - Tilbury Fort

The big old wooden doors at the fort entrance sure is build to last

Wohhooooooooooooooo I just love the long grass...wait a minute I smell someone's been here before me

The fort is suppose to have water surrounding it but been very dry and you could walk through although the chances of
getting stuck in deep mud is 100%. The fort walls have canons protecting the building right around it.

Old wooden bridge that goes into the back of the fort, this links to a draw bridge

KNOCK KNOCK ANYBODY GONNA LET US IN?

Well that is Bella's ride report for the moment and back in my box, the Worlds End pub is still closed thank goodness!

Safely home and going to take a nap now while the master washes his bike from last weeks offroading session.

Sunday

There is a fair few forts down the Thames river they build early years to protect London from a water
invasion from other countries.

They have good old fashioned boot sales and military stuff for sale every few weekends. Yesterday we were also treated for a classic bike show
and took a few pics.

Anybody fancy a tricked out Monkey bike

Any body ever heard of a Levis (well not the kind you wear)

And of course a very rare specimen of the Velocette

Scooted fans out there? Lambretta

She's got a harnass on and I clipped her onto a strap with a climbing karabiner. Glue her to the floor   you know she doesn't stand still long enough for the glue to set :D

She was a bit nervous when we rode to the fort, coming back you could see it was typical dog pleasure with wind in the face. I am ordering some doggles and a helmet for her from the states this week so her eyes and head is protected from flying debris. It is facinating to see people literally turning in their tracks when you ride past them with the pup in the box

Does your wife know what you did with her dog?

You gotta get a screen or something, to save those
eyes of hers Mav......Just not a green one

I still love looking at the classic bikes.....Much more classy than
the ones we have now

Yeah the Mrs know and as long as I look after the pup she's ok with it. Getting some protective goggles for her eyes and was thinking of making a small visor that fits in front of the pannier out of perspex or something. Ultimately the idea is to buy a sidecar outfit later on for the whole family

H,mmm If I got some REALLY BIG boxes I could try that, but my two little beasts are Bull Mastiffs, the Male is 60+ kg,s and the female about 40kg, so wheelies should be easy!

Welshie    8)

I,m not Dyslexic, I AM on a mission from DOG!
