Title: Wilddog down in Helderberg
Post by: zagser on December 02, 2011, 11:15:31 am
Marcal was taken out by a cage this morning on his way to work in Somerset West.

We are still waiting for confirmation, but at this stage it seems that he has a broken arm, shoulder and ankle.

Other details are still a bit sketchy at the moment, will update if we get more info.

Just another reminder to view all cages as trying to take you out!  >:(

Will let you know if they need help with the bike.
Will try and get in contact with his wife to see what the current situation is.

Slight Hi-jack, shouldn't you change your location from 'Soon to be Somerset, to currently somerset?

Not sure, he works in Somerset West, but lives in Gordon's Bay, so that would most probably have happened in Gordons Bay drive, or beach road.

Just spoke with his wife, Kevin only broke his arm, his shoulder is fine and he will get a brace for his ankle.

He will be released from hospital today to recover at home.

Their insurance took care of the bike, so he anly need to worry about the recovery for now.
Not sure of the state of the bike at the moment.

Heal soon Kevin!   :thumleft:

Was it a blue V-strom or Varadero? A tow truck just filled up with a blue bike on the back with a CEY reg number. Looks like the cage hit the back from the rear because whole bike is bent at the back.

Glad you are ok.

This morning i Saw a gs650 almost get taken out by a twatwaffle inna bakkie, who decided to overtake on the left shoulder - was an onramp at peak hours.

Ne ouens, it's getting too scary to commute on a bike with these morons around. Ja, there are risks on the grond pad too, but thankfully not as much.
