Hi Guys I see I got hundreds of videos of the boat trip but not one still photo. I will work out how to take snap shots still. Lots happened but time is short. Will report again when I have time. Here is a teaser so long. I travelled through the 2nd longest tunnel in the world yesterday, the St Goddard tunnel close to Italy in Switzerland. It is 17 km long. I met some other bikers yesterday from Europe and they told me they are scarred to travel through. In a months time I will travel through the longest one in the world namely 24 km which runs under a lake where the St Goddard tunnel runs through a mountain. That is all car and truck tunnels. There is a train tunnel in Switzerland of 57 km.
Photo see length above tunnel.

So much to do and so little time. I still want to do 10 000 km before my Visa expire in less than 2 months. You can not cover distance here like in RSA unless you stay on the highways. Will see if I can do more reporting this afternoon as from tomorrow I will be solid on the road with hardly any rest days.

Brilliant as always, thanks for taking the time to share a bit Schalk and enjoy every minute!  :thumleft:
It is only a pleasure Tom.

From the Berndt Tesch meeting on Sunday 29/04/18 I traveled to a friend Kris Dejonghe in Oostend in Begium. I met Kris in Dar Es Salaam in 2015 on my Africa trip. I stayed with him till Saturday the 5/05/18. Every day we did day trips on my bike to places he knows.
The first day we went to the trenches in Belgium where part of the 1nd world war took place.
Then we went to the Bunkers that the Germans build during World War 2. At the curio shop the owner bought one of my books due to Kris good French. In that part of Belgium they speak French.
Then we went to a town called Jeper where they play the last post on a trumpet exactly at 8 PM. It is being happening since World War 2 and thousands of people come and watch every night. It is quite an emotional experience.
The next day we went to Brugge a real tourist town of Belgium. We had some beers and a look around. See photos.
The next day we went to France all along the coast and you can see England from there across the English channel. Then on the way home we went past a bikers pub in Groenedijk. I told the bar man owner I am from South Africa and belong to a motorcycle forum called the Wilddogs with over 20 000 members. He then said to me that he is not impressed. Kris then told him about my trip across Africa and back. Kris then showed him my book which I always carry with me. The next moment the guy came around the counter and apologized and shook my hand. He not only bought my book there and then but also gave me a free beer. He spoke in Belgium Dutch and myself in Afrikaans. From then on every time I came there he shook my hand with a free beer. The last day there when I came to say good bye he also came around the bar to give me a hug and he wish me good luck with my future travels.
Kris and I also went to a biker’s museum (see photos) The owner there also bought my book.
Then the Sunday I went back to Eveline van Hooren place in order to go on my long awaited canal boat trip with her dad.
First photo Kris and me

Great om te sien jy is weer op die pad.
Ja dankie my maat.
