Fanbelt ? Thought the 1150 was aircooled. :bueller:

It's the fan for the Flux Capacitor. Sits behind the CPU for the carburetor.

XC = Chinese built parts with Italian assembly ...

... two wrongs don't make a right.

I gutted mine (on the GS) and replaced the lines with braided SS ones salvaged off a crashed GSA.

Easy to service, 100 times better feel and they will last for ever.

(Then promptly sold the bike ... so now the next owner is enjoying them.  ::)  )

My 'new-to-me' smart tv has turned your YouTube videos into real spectacles. I spend far too many hours traversing mountains in my living room.

Thank you and keep it up!  :thumleft:

Hi guys,

I want to know the condition of the R56 between Middelburg and Elliot.

Roadworks, anything.

Flux capacitors are best  :thumleft:

They are, but they raise the CoG.

BMW 1100/1150/ADV / Re: Quick release coupling wanted
« on: May 07, 2018, 11:37:30 am »

I replaced the "O" ring on an OEM coupler on the crossover, Stealer price R 57.00 for an "O" ring. ::)

I forked over R450 and replaced all on both bikes ... with a spare for each toolkit.

Once every 15 years ain't that bad ... considering they tend to be show stoppers when the let go.

Howdee guys

One of the quick release units on my R1150GS has started to leak recently, the one with the female unit on the tank side of the coupling.

Not sure what they price for at the dealers but I was wondering do you have one lying around you want to get rid of?

A leak is usually just the o-ring that's shot. (They become brittle over time.) Much cheaper than a new coupler.

How did it break?

They deserve our total support,

Surely you EARN support.

Maybe they should have a look along the N14 around Diepsloot and ask the shacks next to the Highway for their plans?

Two totally different sets of rules for the hêvs and the hêvnots.

They build whatever where ever ... then receive water, sanitation, electricity and eventually houses ... which the muni supplies with your taxes.

Taxes which include the money you had to pay to have your building plans approved ...

Flying Brick had a selection last I was there.

If you can't find anything and HAVE to use a large connector ... take the alternator belt off and lift the alternator to max height.

That should give a few extra mm.

Twin spark R1150GS. Everything you'll ever want in a tar tourer.

Interessant is dat my 1100s baie geriefliker is op die ooppad as my 1150

Neewat, my nek en skouers is lam teen die tyd dat ek by die dorp uit is .. die GS sit darem baie gemakliker.
