Planning a Ride / Re: If you are in the Cederberg soon !

That road is definitely closed-used by the Heuningvlei community for tourism-take hikers up in donkey cars.I did the hike with local guides and they were extremely upset when a group of large adventure bikers came past us.
The sign is very clear at the Pakhuis gate.
Lets respect each others property

Navigation, Maps and GPS / Re: GPS/ NAVIGATION - HELP
« on: July 12, 2018, 11:17:51 am »
GPS on a bike is not just about navigation-the ability to see what is coming your way(sharp turns, straights etc)is a prerequisite for high speed gravel touring.Cell phones are just for navigation, their small screens are useless for road info.
My Montana 600 mounted on its side gives a fantastic track/route view in a large screen format.
Hope this helps

You are one very tough, determined motorcyclist, but, you ignored the most important part of your toolkit-a riding buddy.I will never ride long distance gravel, with no comms,on my own.

Bought an unregistered 650R(so I was told)and checked the VIN on eNatis-turns out it still has valid registration papers of the previous, previous owner who seems to be paying the licence every year despite having sold the bike. He,at first said he will sign the transfer and send the papers and then disapeared. It seems that someone is using "my" bikes plate and licence disc on another bike.
Total ballsup and reinforces the importance of checking everything before buying or selling.

Hi Richard
Just fitted the lowered pegs you supplied. They have made a big difference in my sitting and standing position, taking into account my 2,0m length.
Only snag is that I struggle to find the back brake, maybe you have a suggestion to bring that closer/more in line to the peg.

Not sure how to you need to be to need lowered foot pegs, I am 1.82 and have no issue on either and L or and R had to put some spacers and new bars though.

Add 20cm+ to your height and then you will understand the problem-bar raisers are not a solution-too high and serious handling issues occur.

Ok with you just another question have you tried a different bend on the bars, can't tell you what a big difference changing the bars made for me more so than the risers
Use a Renthall Fat Bar RC High-made an enormous difference but just looking for an extra 20-25mm on the pegs

Lowering the pegs will most probably mess up the gear changing ability as well as the rear brake Hardy...... just keep that in mind......
Better than removing 6" of my legs :)Tall okes will do anything to improve riding position.
