General Bike Related Banter / Re: Stopped by the cops lately?

There are cops  in cape town that do pull bikes over.

Stopped me. Numberplate so dirty its impossible to see any numbers.
Cop says-  why is your plate facing the sky. I say - I don't like water on my back from the rear wheel.
He says - God doesn't need to read your plate, I do.

Says I must change the angle. No fine and no comment on the obscured plate!
Go figure.

I think you hit the nail on the head...
the colder weather causes the tank to shrink

No idea why but after first service on the husky ive seen the same, probably because of riding style change ???

Hey guys,

So I commute with my 690R, and normally at around 205km the fuel light comes on... Now it comes on at 190km... The only thing that I changed was the oil, I put a higher grade oil in..Bike is currently on 7500km..  Is my girl due for a service? or did I miss something...

Clothing and Equipment / Re: Uvex - to buy or not to buy...?
« on: January 18, 2017, 03:35:37 pm »
Just got UVEX from bikegear last month... and boy do I like it. The viewing area is huge...and visor has a special material on makes the viewing clear.
I always get a little claustrophobia with helmets and always open the visor when I stop... not with the UVEX... sometimes I forget that the visor is down...
And best of all... what a ridiculously low price... least I have spent for the best ever...
PS - only ever had BMW helmets... System5 / System 6 and enduro helmet...

Has somebody had a similar issue that they repaired? Seems a waste having to spend R2k on a new seat...

KTM LC4 400/610/640 & 690 / Re: Wanted: Seat Concepts for 2015 690 Enduro
« on: December 14, 2016, 11:10:53 pm »
Had a look at one at KTM clearwater... The only thing I liked was the fact that it had KTM embroiled on the seat... I was NOT convinced that it was more comfortable than the standard seat.. Doubt very much that it comes close the the seat concepts...Alas.. Not going to spend R5.5k on a seat right now... So...have to settle for the standard seat (I need to replace mine)

I doubt the power parts seat is as comfy as my seats concept but its a cheaper option if you need a new seat.
Must admit I haven't tried the power parts seat and my comment is only what I've heard.
That's why I went for the seats concepts but they are pricy and the postage and taxes are a killer.
Cheers

Also thinking of ordering one... I need to replace seat due to a little off... Well. actaully, while I was lying on the ground, a bystander decided to remove my tankbag and didnt know how to remove the seat... f$$king good samaritan...

All she said to me was that she didnt start it, she said that the husband pushed her off the road first and hit her window. She seems like a pleasant person, and after speaking to her, I have second thoughts about getting involved in this, and would rather let the police deal with this.

Personally I think that everyone should take a step back, and let the correct authorities deal with this

Just spoke to the lady, and she seems quite pleasant on the phone. She has a different version of the story, not that I went into great detail with her in regards to that, I just really wanted to establish if she was indeed the owner of the vehicle and if she was involved. which she confirmed

She was, and had a different story. I told her that I would sent her this link. However I am having 2nd thoughts,

I think maybe that everyone should take a step back, realise that there is always 3 sides to a story, his, hers and the truth. So let the authorities deal with this... I am out..

Eish, sorry to hear, cannot repeat what I said when I first read this... put some pics up? I sure that all the dawgs will be on a look out

Yes, we know who, and the joke was that I only filled up with only 28l...

I have run out of petrol 4 times... Last time I ran out I leaned the bike to the left, and it started again...

Age old problem with the beemers. Personally I check the km done, and start heading for the nearst garage at 450km per tank.
Get to know your bike and the distance per tank...

n Vriend van my se 2011 GSA het gaan staan met 57 op die reserve.

Eish :'(
