Bike museum. The 2 nd bike is quite the same than my first Harley in 1965. We use to call them a Harige Dawid.

From the Berndt Tesch meeting on Sunday 29/04/18 I traveled to a friend Kris Dejonghe in Oostend in Begium. I met Kris in Dar Es Salaam in 2015 on my Africa trip. I stayed with him till Saturday the 5/05/18. Every day we did day trips on my bike to places he knows.
The first day we went to the trenches in Belgium where part of the 1nd world war took place.
Then we went to the Bunkers that the Germans build during World War 2. At the curio shop the owner bought one of my books due to Kris good French. In that part of Belgium they speak French.
Then we went to a town called Jeper where they play the last post on a trumpet exactly at 8 PM. It is being happening since World War 2 and thousands of people come and watch every night. It is quite an emotional experience.
The next day we went to Brugge a real tourist town of Belgium. We had some beers and a look around. See photos.
The next day we went to France all along the coast and you can see England from there across the English channel. Then on the way home we went past a bikers pub in Groenedijk. I told the bar man owner I am from South Africa and belong to a motorcycle forum called the Wilddogs with over 20 000 members. He then said to me that he is not impressed. Kris then told him about my trip across Africa and back. Kris then showed him my book which I always carry with me. The next moment the guy came around the counter and apologized and shook my hand. He not only bought my book there and then but also gave me a free beer. He spoke in Belgium Dutch and myself in Afrikaans. From then on every time I came there he shook my hand with a free beer. The last day there when I came to say good bye he also came around the bar to give me a hug and he wish me good luck with my future travels.
Kris and I also went to a bikerís museum (see photos) The owner there also bought my book.
Then the Sunday I went back to Eveline van Hooren place in order to go on my long awaited canal boat trip with her dad.

Just want to say as we leave 2015 I miss the Nubian Desert of Sudan. The best to all of you for 2016. May we all travel many more safe kilos in the near future. Thanks for all your support.
