Would be interesting to see stats on the amount of once off international visitors to this forum.

As for the local market, I think your biggest marketing tool on here will be a Ride Report by someone who has done one of your paid trips.

General Bike Related Banter / RIP Gary Rowley AKA Grolls
« on: August 30, 2018, 08:59:20 am »
What an amazing morning........

I see an ad for a Giant Loop Mojave that is for sale on FB. The price is ridiculously low and I'm almost sure it must be a scam. I contact the seller and he sends banking details, but his name on WhatsApp differs slightly from his FB profile. What the heck....it's a small amount, I pay the money over and seller sends confirmation of tracking details. Turns out it is Grolls' son selling some of his kit. We have a lovely discussion back and forth over WhatsApp about the big guy.

Miss you Gary!

So my life with the 1090R is going well......

Mechanically the bike is stock, i have fitted heated grips, spot light, bash plate will be fitted this week hopefully, GPS is on, and I have an Akro.

Bike s fantastic, absolutely love it. Now, with the questions..... based on what I have been reading and hearing.....

1 - Bad Fuel dongle - What is it? What does it do? Is it a "must have"?
2 - Uni filter / DNA+Gasket - What is the difference? Which is preferable? Also, when i bought the bike, I was advised that KTM sorted out the air filter issues and this is not needed, yet I am getting lots of advise saying its still needed?
3 -  Any other farkels that is recommended or considered "must haves"?

Loving mine as well, apart from the fact that it is at KTM for a 4th visit with issues... :peepwall:

The dongle in my opinion is a must. Hate having to change settings every time I start the bike or hit dirt.
Will also be looking at aftermarket filter options.
I've fitted adv footpegs from Fastway - it has transformed the way I can steer the bike with my body weight. Might be get caught on rocks etc in tech stuff though.
Bash plate if you're going to be using it for more than just a little gravel travel.
Proper hand guards

Get yourself a MotoZ rear tyre for improved milage. My TKC 80 lasted 1800km on the rear.

Thanks Canzius,
Do you know where we can get tyres? And advise on secure but not too expensive accommodation in town? Guesthouse, backpacker, campsite, any of those. That would be great.  :)

Send me your requirements and I can arrange in advance. I will find out about acommodation

@Just Blip It! had 1 or two more surprises up his sleave and we were made to work for our dinner..... :pot:

It was already dark when we arrived at Maguga Lodge. We had a few beers and then went to our rooms to take off our wet boots and clean up. Great dinner with lots of laughs and stories.

Henry and Lee enjoying some man-to-man contact......
