Looks like great fun! Just a group of friends riding enduro? And is it my imagination, or did some big bikes join?

Are those bikes mostly around 500cc?

Another event?!! Lucky fish  O0 I'm super jealous, only out of the moonboot for a week or so and the physio demands explosive power (being able to hop on injured ankle) before I can ride again >:(

Which I can sort of do, but now my mechanic is holding my bikes hostage to force me to take it slow :xxbah:

Are you starting to make friends in the KTM community? Or don't you come across the same faces at these events?

Was it as fun as the demo day? That still looks like the greatest outing to date, hope they have those on a regular basis.

Was this a type of enduro course?

Fantastic photo's! Really great to see the ship at such a close angle.

Tom, strongs. It will be fine in the end. If it isn't fine ... then it isn't the end :lol8:

We all wish you all the best, and will help you as best we can :thumleft:

No worries, if it's not just me, I'm sure we can entertain ourselves if we decide to wait it out for a bit

wearing mismatched shoes

Not mismatched... you just let everybody know that it is one half if a carefully matched double set of "opposites". Just say that you have their opposite number at home for alternate days  :)

I said to the vet when he commented on the shoes: "I have another pair at home just like it!"  :imaposer:

:laughing4: :laughing4:

But... A man noticing the shoes your wearing?!! :o
Also, you can't be that tired if you can still be a smart alex :imaposer:

I know you're working all hours to keep up with your expenses, but please, try to get enough rest. I'm sure Mr Zog would rather have a few bills waiting when he gets back, than have you become ill with stress and overwork. You're precious to us too! Strongs Mrs Zog.

I went to see Tom off on a whim. Here was this unknown WD going off on a year long adventure on a remote island, it was almost too fantastic to believe. It was a little before home time and the ship's departure was delayed, as usual apparently, so I legged it (or tried to).

I still remember standing at Security 50 m away waving Tom off, perspiring gently from slogging the 5km or so down Bree Street wearing winter clothes and laptop backpack, and then climbing on the breakwall to watch the ship disappear. It was so late and took so long I missed my train home. Luckily that was during a brief period when I had someone approximating a boyfriend who was willing to fetch me and take me the 40 km home. Poor guy, he is better off without me :o

Who knew it would lead to last minute running around to try and find stuff on the shopping list that I could swear I saw the previous time I was in the shop. Or buying too many magazines and chocolates or trying to shove in one more bottle of wine, and the box suddenly weighs a ton! Or trying to collect or buy stuff you guys wanted for Tom.

Or a panicked computer setup until the early hours, trying to download software and validate the licence, before wrapping it in bubblewrap and shoving into a supposedly unbreakable plastic box, which had a hole in it when it reached Tom :lamer: (I think that night I slept 2 hours before getting up to deliver the box at killme o'clock.) Or the worrying that stuff might break on the way - those containers were NOT handled gently. Or the nagging feeling that I forgot something Tom asked for :bueller:

And marking and closing up the boxes hopefully really properly, and dropping off at the DEA at just past 5 o'clock in the morning. There were only about 4 or 5 boxes (6 maybe?), but feels like each one aged me 10 years. It is time for Tom to come home :imaposer:

But if/when you go back, Tom, I'll happily provide support again. It's been an eye opener following this thread - additional to the fantastic and beautiful photographs you post - and it was fun and a privilege to be able to help in some way :thumleft:

Beautiful little sidecar in first pic - stunning colour and pristine condition, looks like.
Especially if it is raining.

You seem to have travelled some distance. Was that train, bicycle or motorbike?
KTM 500 EXC. Great mornings outing.

Green with jealousy!  :ricky:

Must be nice to have a few (OK, MANY) new faces, and they all look as pleased as punch to be on the island! Hope that feeling carries them through the year.

I think I'd go bad in a small team on an island, just do the necessary and vegetate the rest of the time. Your drive, will power and self-discipline is inspiring, same as Mr Zog, although I suspect he also has a tad of ADD to propel him onward ;-)

And you also do the post thingies. I received a neatly handwritten envelope in the post on Friday - yaaay SA Post Office still functions! - and am very happy with my stickers. Thank you!

Ha!  ;D That only took 2 months! I mailed them on the 7th of July! I'm glad you got them and you like them!  :thumleft:

Love them! They'll join the various other stickers on my bike and travel the Western Cape with me :ricky:
