Glad you are ok.
Do we need to slow down? Really?
My father always said he will never be an oxygen thief or a living dead.
We need to accept that we have limitations, but we also need to live!

Dankie Tom, my Saterdag het goed begin.
Ja ek sal graag na jou staaltjies wil sit en luister om 'n rustige vuurtjie eendag.
Vir nou geniet ek die storie en foto's.
Ek dink hier teen die tyd is jy seker lekker moeg vir die beperkte dieet daar.

General Bike Related Banter / Re: G310GS recall

It's the vertically challenged fat arses that stand on the pegs to get on and off, thus bending the stand.

Egg zactly!  No, never mind about vertically challenged, or fat arse, I would just never even think of mounting a bike with my weight on the footpeg while the bike is on the side stand.
Anyone who does so deserves the damage they cause.

It's called mechanical sympathy.
You never saw me with my old XL, only way for me to be able to kick it through was to climb up and start it on the sidestand and then ride it off!
Worked and no recall needed.

What the fuck is this world coming to?   :o

I know, alright, call me a stupid old fucker, everyone else does.  :peepwall:

For 57 years I've been riding near and far, often alone with no form of communication in my pocket, much less attached to my bike.

If I 'go down', I'm gonna lie there and die, so all this shit's got me worried eh?

FUCK, NO!!
I am 54 and am now getting flak from family and friends about my attitude!
If I cannot ride or drive out, I will crawl to a human and take it from there, if I cannot do that, then I will have died doing what I like where I like! Better than getting killed by an idiot who thinks he has right over my life!

General Bike Related Banter / Re: So..lets define a biker
« on: July 18, 2018, 08:46:32 pm »
Your question is like the difference between a bike "technician " and a bike " mechanic".
If you are AWB ( all weather biker) and you ride what you have and you cannot be without a bike, then you are a biker.

New Member Introductions / Re: The Greek in SA
« on: July 17, 2018, 07:24:59 pm »
Thanks

interesting this shops in order to start to find what i'll need.
Pants, tent, tools, tires. In SA you have your own stuff... adapt to Africa. It's very interesting.

Any HP2 specialist in Cape Town?
Welcome and read the Ride reports, there is a lot off information there!
Vaalbas on the forum has a hp2 and is close to Capetown and should be able to direct you to somebody.
Post your route here and then the guys will quickly help you.
Hardy de Kok is the guy to ask about Namibia.
You can send them a pm.

I agree that the shift is to lighter bikes, we( the biking community) are not getting younger.
If the stigma or mindset around bigger is better can be gotten around then we might even see more younsters joining the biking community.

:peepwall:
