Comment from a experienced AT rider:

"I took my bike to Hilton Hayward, he is an ex KTM Factory suspension setup wizard. His workshop is near Broederstroom. He did both the front and back. On the front he replaced all the internals and oil (he says the stock components are very low quality, awful really) and he replaced the spring and adjusted settings on the back"

At 8K it is expensive but maybe worth doing over the long run.

General Bike Related Banter / Proudly Meerkat

Flying Brick Motorcycle Accessory Store / Re: Flying brick fuel bag.
« on: March 13, 2018, 05:47:59 pm »
This looks pretty decent with proper tie down holes.
Although I had plenty problems with 3 different Fox bags, these type of bags are very convenient to tie down on top of your panniers or duffle bag. Also relatively small to fold up when not in use.
Also if Chris sells them it will be a good product guaranteed  :thumleft:

Reading between the lines on the reviews it think the new 2018 model will be top heavy, not suitable for shorter riders and VERY expensive compared to what you can buy current model for. The things i like about the new one, suspension upgrade, fuel capacity etc can be done to the current model for little money compared to the upgraded one.

My 2 c......

About South Africa... / Re: PLAAS FOTOS - FARM PICS
« on: February 21, 2018, 11:06:19 pm »

SONNEBLOMME in die botselstadium is sonsoekers of heliotrope.

Do yourself a favour and fit some protection to those header pipes, especially it you get rid of those crappy OEM tyres that puncture everytime you hit a rock.
I bought a motorradical kit from runner designed for a GS1200, but only used one piece. The other is yours if you want it.
Tx Dawie, will take you up on your offer - wil contact you when I come to Gauteng.  :thumleft:

Looking good Schalk, 2 points if I may:

1. There has been a fair amount of chat about the "GPS bar" breaking. Are you going to strengthen / reinforce yours?
2. Your saddle bag looks very close to the exhaust (I know this because I bought my bike with the Rumbux crash bar sets too). How are you going to ensure it doesn't cook the bag or its contents? This has been puzzling me.
Hi Rob,
1. Didn't know that. I suppose i will check to c what happens while still under warrenty and then act. I did go and look at it again and honestly I can't see a 200g gps breaking it unless you drop the bike and somehow hit a stone or something.  Will report back here on my finding.......
2. Yes you are 100% correct. What you cant see on the pic is that the luggage come with a thicker protective layer of somekind that is fastened to the innerside of the bags with 2 loops at the top that the straps going over the seat goes through as well as a velcro thingie at the bottom to stop it from flapping.  THATS another reason why I chose the Nelson Rig luggage - they think ahead.  Will take a pic later and post here  :thumleft:

That campsite is going to be hectic  :eek7: As I understand its 38 official stands. I suppose small tents can fit 3?
