Congrats on the KLR

When the doohickey gets done, also have the it checked for deep hole syndrome. It's an inexpensive fix.

Enjoy the bike!

Thanks that is on my list to have checked.  :thumleft:
It's included in the doo job.
Listen to this man.... :3some:......AND apart from the quote he gives you, you ALWAYS take 6 zamaleks with you as well (if you want some as well, take more)  :peepwall:

I agree with above. The service from everybody but in particular Elani  is totally unacceptable, it always cost me at least 5K when i walk in there, her knowledge of the biker brain is so high that i just bend the knee and hand over my credit card  when i get there.

With Touratech on board this is going to become unbearable  :patch:

Clothing and Equipment / Re: ATG Stretcher - Who's got one ?
« on: August 03, 2018, 10:31:42 am »
I've bought 2 of the new ATG stretchers after I borrowed a friend's old one for a trip.

I've used mine 2-3 times and I'm very impressed with it. It is a  lot more comfortable (and longer and wider) than the old one. The only "negative" part is that it is a fair bit bigger than the older models when it is packed in the bag, but it is worth the extra space  :thumleft:
Cool. That "wider" bit is what i am after  :3some:

Kawasaki KLR 600/650 / Re: Bolt dims for drill through subframe mod
« on: July 25, 2018, 03:44:49 pm »
I would like to do the drill through mod for the top subframe bolts on my 2007 KLR. I have the SW Motech crash bars fitted. Can anyone give me the dims for the bolt?

Cheers Lars
Why not just put the same size 9.9 strenght bolts in? I can't see how that can break? -  Experts please advise @Groenie
I dont like the risk of drilling that hole 1mm skew and then you a much bigger problem

:3some:

Dis t ver van my af  :peepwall: :ricky:

Nope, I want to fight my 1190 through the trip.  :pot:

I have heard it is being planned in three separate venues.

Venue 1:  Believers, BMW riders and Rossi supporters and general good people.
Venue 2:  Non-Believers, KTM riders, Marquez supporters and other assorted heathens.
Venue 3:  2 Stroke Dan.
O Donderdag!
Ek is gelowig, ry Honda, dra Bmw helmet, Triumph baadjie, drink bier en assosieer met Mooiboys, Clamperdowns, en Ruffentuff van die Bluff ouens? Waar pas ek nou in? :imaposer:
By die "above 50's" groepie wat nie meer 'n frik voel wat ander mense s nie en hulle omring met mense wat die lewe die moeite werd maak  :3some:

Look at these as well but you cant get away from it that all tow bars have a 80-120kg load limit (+- )
I am pretty sure a big bike will exceed that even if spreaded on ramp.......

Comment from a experienced AT rider:

"I took my bike to Hilton Hayward, he is an ex KTM Factory suspension setup wizard. His workshop is near Broederstroom. He did both the front and back. On the front he replaced all the internals and oil (he says the stock components are very low quality, awful really) and he replaced the spring and adjusted settings on the back"

At 8K it is expensive but maybe worth doing over the long run.

Flying Brick Motorcycle Accessory Store / Re: Flying brick fuel bag.

This looks pretty decent with proper tie down holes.
Although I had plenty problems with 3 different Fox bags, these type of bags are very convenient to tie down on top of your panniers or duffle bag. Also relatively small to fold up when not in use.
Also if Chris sells them it will be a good product guaranteed  :thumleft:

Gps4Africa can get it for me for R2500 ----- [Thinking about it.............]

Reading between the lines on the reviews it think the new 2018 model will be top heavy, not suitable for shorter riders and VERY expensive compared to what you can buy current model for. The things i like about the new one, suspension upgrade, fuel capacity etc can be done to the current model for little money compared to the upgraded one.

My 2 c......
