I have never heard of rivet nuts before, so had to google this.
There is an easy install video on youtude showing how to install without any special tools.
This was a new experience me too. Looks like a really simple thing to install. Just need to find the nuts.

Sent from my VTR-L29 using Tapatalk

They are at most hardware stores, builders wh etc

Planning a Ride / Swaziland Border crossing
« on: January 29, 2018, 08:11:47 pm »
Looking at routes for a trip in March, and thinking of doing a short ride through Swaziland.
Enter - Mahamba and exit - Golela

Getting some conflicting info on border crossing requirements.

What is required?

Is it full requirements like Namibia etc or is it like Lesotho?

Thanks guys, sorry I had to cut it short.

Enjoyed the railway service road a lot even though it felt like I might run out of luck at any time! Need to do more of that type of riding.

Just had a look, seems as if going along the R558 is the shortest route for you to get to the Sasol, which is almost at the crossing of the R558 and N12. No idea what that road looks like regarding area and traffic.
You could also perhaps join us at Total garage on Potgieter and Gordon, say 6;45 ?

Will meet you at the Sasol.

I went over Saturday morning. Consider myself a beginner in Adventure/Dual riding.

This was my first real technical type mountain pass ride doing only gravel roads before.

Had to stop 2 or 3 times to check lines, but once you planned the line and comfortable then its not that bad.

Where the one concrete pipe is exposed I had to stop for traffic, and the guys on quads just assisted to get me going on the uphill.
Would have had to reverse back down a bit to get going on my own. Lots of small loose rocks there just keep on spinning.

Awesome ride though, had lots of fun!  :ricky:

And lost ALL of my helmet cam footage due to corrupt SD card!!!  >:( >:( >:(

I have the opportunity to go and watch the Assen race this year.....super stoked about it!

I have the option of Grandstand tickets in one of these stands, where should I go??

1. Ossebroeken Grandstand
2. Stekkenwal Grandstand
3. De Bult Grandstand

Help me choose please!

Ossebroeken would be my choice.

I couldn't justify these helmet prices and settled on a Bell MX9 adventure.

I have a MX9 adventure as well. I opted for the RSD design and it has a lush lining inside - super comfortable.( not sure if it has the same lining as the normal ones)

It is a rather noisy helmet, great ventilation - so naturally abit chilly when its cold.

One downside is you cant close the vents so should it rain - you will get wet.

I ordered mine from Overseas (had a family member bring it over) and it cost me less than half the asking price here. R2600 if i remember correctly.

I have ridden in torrential rain a few times over the last weeks, and not a drop of water got inside mine.

Blind is the bell as good as the GS and Arai?
(serious question as I dont know)

They have the same ratings, build quality is excellent, Bell is a very respectable helmet maker, it has the MIPS system (may be a gimmick but its there). Very comfortable.

I could not see or feel a difference in quality.

My on road helmets are 8 - 10k helmets, so I have spent Money on Shoei Xspirit and Airoh helmets.
