I goto exciting, far away places, see state of the art computer equipment and break them.
Today it rained here, so it makes for some nice pics and wet jeans:

Between Swellendam and Riviersonderend
Stormsvlei Bridge, just off the N2 towards Bonnievale
Road to McGregor
Voorhuis road, between Bonnievale and Swellendam

OK the last one I found from an earlier ride (the canola have been harvested) but couldn't resist as it's such a nice pic.

It's been slow the last couple of days, so I took a ride into the mountains near Swellendam:

Crossing the river, nothing wrong with the bridge you can see on the photo but going through the river is more fun
The pine forest is usually deserted. It's a really nice place to ride
Next to Marloth Nature reserve, you can ride along the fence
Hermitage side, entrance to the forest from the back. Theres a channel dividing the forest and this side opens some great trails
The dams where I think our water supply comes from

As before - awesome pics!

I enjoyed the couple of hours we spend on the road last Saturday very much!
Everyone is also commenting about the Garden Route that is so beautiful (and it is), but this doesn't need to stand back for any of what the Garden Route have to offer.

Btw - this photo should look familiar.
Sorry about the quality of the photo, but the bridge came up and I thought it would make for a cool inride photo.
So I had to fish my cellphone out of my jacket pocket with a gloved hand, switch on the camera, point and shoot.

Didn't have much time.

Yes, thats the bridge in the first photo (previous post)!
Didn't know if you'd enjoy going through the river, so kept going.
There's some great places to ride here, but most people don't even turn off at Swellendam. Not really a destination, more like a pit stop!

Due to the heavy rains, I've had to use my Pajero the last week or so, so those pics probably aren't allowed.
But today, I had to visit some remote sites that was cut off and decided to take the bike. We didn't have as much damage as the Southern Cape, but farmers took huge losses. Anyway, here's some pics of todays ride.
The first river crossing was uneventful, bit more water than usual, but easily crossed.

1 - Then I got to the next one, saw lots of sand in places and some deep shadows but thought WTF, lets go. Almost got stuck halfway through in the sand. Had to put my feet out and got wet up to my knees. Spun the bike out.
2 - No the bike didn't grow ears, those are my socks.
3 - Showing a fine leg
4 - Just a couple of kilos further, into the mountains.
5 - Almost there.
