Anyone ride a terra 650?

And it is awesome, I rode a 690 for a while and absolutely prefer the Terra. Much more comfortable, handles better on tar, lots more features. And obviously excellent value for money.

I think these bikes at the current price are great value.

In fact if you could somehow organise a shock and fork transplant (their suspension is their weakpoint from an off road point of view IMO), then you would be approaching "the ultimate DS bike" people often talk about.

But as it is, I think its a better choice than say the BMW Sertoa, or Yamaha XT660.  Good for touring and not too hectic off road stuff.

The suspension is not as bad as everyone thinks.

I have done a couple of offroad tracks at speed and haven't managed to bottom the suspension out even though it doesn't have lots of travel. On on of the same tracks I did with my 990 the front use to bottom out on the one part. So I don't know, I quite enjoy the suspension.

Would I buy one again? DEFINITELY.

Only problem is there aren't many aftermarket parts available yet, but hopefully the guys will catch on sooner rather than later.

Kelly in the USA has manufactured lots of accessories for them --Here in SA - its not worth even looking at getting stuff in for them --only a handful were sold --

That's the same one I rode. (And almost dropped  - the front brake is very much better than my XT's!  ).

I liked it a lot for what it is - an easy DS runabout and a great city-bike that can also tour a bit.  Given the choice of an XT660R, Sertao, or the Terra I'd pick the Terra in an instant.

It might be missing the 6th gear, but it certainly has legs... I have seen strange speeds on mine for a 650...

Nope --they have a issue with the US Postal service nowdays --- they will ship to someone in the usa for you who can send it along as a gift

Halls send via one of the islands to SA --but I don't think they have accessories --maybe look on their web --

You use their warehouse address when you order stuff, it gets sent there then they ship it to you.

A few issues though.

1)If the parcel is sent to them via US Postal Service the US gov then requires you to prove your ID, this can be a challenge (they didnt like my SA ID because that didnt expire. They accepted my passport but then needed some other doc as well, they didnt like my drivers licence because that didnt have me name spelt in full, they didnt like my council bill because that had the same problem, it turned out none of my other documents had my name spelt out in full............... ,  , went on for a while until I said they should just keep the bloody part it wasn't worth the hassle, then they made a MASSIVE concession - Americans have no sense of humour that's for sure!)

2) They ship via Fedex and claim very good rates but its still quite pricey shipping via Fedex to SA.  But they are fast and efficient.
